S-ranked ghoulIf it wasn't bad enough that Gary had to do a lot on his own...now he was given the bloody responsibility of a mentor. But the kid was alright...smart enough not to frustrate him. He was actually quite the charmer...a smart ass and stupidly honest. Gary Lambert did not appreciate anyone who tried to act 'Einstein' with him but Ben Golbach seemed to find every little knowledge and information exciting. And excited people tend to brag on and on about a topic....but Ben didn't sound smug, he sounded fascinated. Which was why Gary had decided to proceed on this ridiculous mentor crap.
"Gary! Did you remember about that thing I was telling you about!!"
Gary looked up from his paper....papers on the desk of his lab. It's not exactly a lab to be exact...it was a combination of many spaces...so Ben had called it the Lab/Library Cafe room."No", he replied. It was possible that the 'thing' was about the mummy that was said to have been found buried deep in the sea. Gary wasn't able to properly eat for days, hearing the mummification process.
Ben strides over and placed a pile of books opposite his build. Now he couldn't see that boy's face....oh whatever in the world...."C'mon Gary!!" He pestered. "You know...that stuff I was digging in last month!! There's some new reports on it!! You have to listen!"
"What are we talking about again?"Gary Lambert, 25 vs Ben Golbach,16
Ben leaned in close amongst the books and whispered, "those red eye monsters"
Immediately Gary stopped spinning his pen around his fingers, his eyes narrowing. "What do you mean?" Red eye monsters...it wasn't like a 25 year old man didn't believe in them. "What reports?"Ben beamed, happy to gain his attention. He took a file out from under and slammed it on the table beside the books. Gary eyed it like it contained all his dirty little secrets. It's not like it didn't though....
The boy pulled out a printed out image and some dates and notes. Pinned together with the image was a torn up article from the newspaper."Look", he said, sounding horrified and thrilled at the same time.
Gary excepted the contents. The newspaper clipping was old...around 10 years ago but the image was much clearer and obviously new and recently happened. There was a lady...and another person that was too hard to identify. But there was something red like a tail sticking out from behind his back...and the lady had silky purple hair and behind her were four red tail like organ attached to her body...
Gary pushed the image away. The newspaper had a clipping of a strange sighting of a 'devil woman' with satan tails...or that was what the locals called it...
He took the newspaper into his hands and crushed it in his fingers...looking down at the table, his eyes passing on to nothing. Ben shook his shoulders."What?"
Gary looked up and shook his head, pretending to place the crushed clipping into the pocket of his coat. "Nothing at all. This.....you're quite an observer aren't you? I'll have this and this-" he took the printed image and waved the paper at the younger boy's face. "I'll try hunting round for...er...news and stuff...you...you should take the day off. Always coming in here right after school, don't you have an exam or something? Go home and read your encyclopedias...I'll help you with this in the meantime".There wasn't a doubt....that lady.....that was definitely Rize!
She's somewhere here....hiding....in this town! But who was that other person? It was hard to tell....No matter....
She's here...and now Gary wasn't going to let her go....alive........................
Sam woke up groggily the next day as cold sunlight blinded his face momentarily. He sat on the edge of the bunk bed and waited for at least 15 minutes before moving towards the bathroom to relieve himself and wash his face. When he got out to wipe his frame, Samuel was in the shared bedroom. He placed a set of cloths on the bed.
