We're a train wreck waiting to happen

You two are dancing in a snow globe round and round

"Nervous?" Leo asked as I fixed the skirt of my white sundress. "a bit" I said and smiled. "You'll be fine, don't worry" Leo said and kissed my forehead,"lets go" he said as he fixed his blue button up shirt. 

We got into Leo's car and drove off to the church. We would be meeting with Leo's family for Sunday mass, there I would meet his family and then we would fly home the next day. 

"this is the first time I meet my boyfriend's parents" I said as we stopped at a red light. "seriously?" Leo asked. "yeah, I never bothered to meet any of their parents" I stated. "why?" Leo asked. "never lasted" I said as I reapplied my lipstick. "You're the first girl I bring home, the other girls were never worth it" Leo said as we parked outside the church. 

"I feel like I'm going to puke" I whispered as I stepped out of the car. "relax, I'll be here the whole time" Leo said and kissed my cheek and grabbed my hand as we walked in. 

"Look who's back in town" I heard a male voice shout. I looked to my left and saw a tall guy, in his early twenties. He had blond hair cut short and he was wearing a black dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up. "Wesley" Leo shouted and we walked over to greet him. "When'd you get back?" Wesley asked. "we got here last night" Leo said. "who's this?" Wesley asked. "this is Elizett, my girlfriend" Leo said and introduced me. "Elizett Marquez, nice to meet you" I said and shook his hand. "Wesley Aresti" he said and shook my hand. "Wesley and I have been friends since we were ten" Leo explained. "and counting" Wesley chuckled," what brings you guys here?" Wesley asked. "Im here to meet Leo's family" I said. "wow, Leo has never brought a girl home to meet his parents, expect a wedding ring soon" Wesley said and winked. "we're gonna go sit down, stop by later" Leo said and led me to the pew where his family was sitting.

"El this is my family, my mom Miranda and my dad Valentino" Leo said and introduced me to a women with dark brown hair. "Miranda Loretta" she said and smiled as she shook my hand. "Valentino Loretta" he said and shook my hand. "these are my sisters, Camilla, Cara and Lilah" Leo said and introduced me to three girls who looked to all be under the age of eighteen. "this is Elizett, my girlfriend" Leo said. "Elizett Marquez" I said and smiled. "Pleasure to meet you Elizett, now tell us a little bit about your family" Miranda said as we all took a seat in their  outdoor parlor. 

"well my parents are the fifth generation here in the United states, my dad's family is from Mexico, and my mom's family is from Colombia. My parents are Victoria and Antonio Marquez, i have four brothers, Ulysess is 25, Enrique is 22, Marco is 17, and Renato is 15. My older sister Isa is 27" I explained. "where do you live?" Valentino asked. "Los Angeles" I said. "what do you do?" Miranda asked. "Im attending UCLA, Im studying forensic Psychology" I stated. "what do your parents do?" Miranda asked. "My dad works for the Chicago Police Department and my mom's a teacher," I said. "are your siblings married?" Miranda asked. "yes, Isa has been married for four years, and she has a daughter. Ulysess has been married for two years and he's expecting his second child pretty soon. The rest of us are still in school" I said. "it was a pleasure meeting you Elizett, we hope to see you again soon" Miranda said as she stood up. "pleasure was all mine" I said and smiled. 

As we walked to the door I saw Miranda whisper something to Leo. 

"they loved you, especially my mom" Leo said as we got into his car. Hearing him say those words lifted a burden off my shoulders. "they want us to join them for dinner" Leo said as we drove to our hotel. 

(A/N: it is such a warm fuzzy feeling to hear your boyfriend/girlfriend say the words "my mom likes you" no lie) 

We had two hours before we had to leave for Miranda's house. 

After I slipped on a black lace long sleeve dress, I started curling my hair and started applying my makeup. 

"You look beautiful" Leo said as he kissed my cheek. He was wearing a white long sleeve shirt with the sleeves rolled up and a pair of black tight pants. "thank you" I said and smiled. "lets go wow them" Leo said as I slipped on my jacket. 

"so this is the lucky girl!" a women exclaimed as soon as we walked in. "isnt she gorgeous" Miranda said and smiled. "Dont let this one go, Leo" the women exclaimed. "trust me I wont," Leo said and smiled," that was my aunt Lucile, you'll see her around a lot" Leo explained," that over there is my grandmother, June. She's gonna love you" Leo said and walked me over to a short women who was sitting at the table talking to Miranda and another women with black curly hair. "grandma, aunt Priscilla, this is my girlfriend Elizett" Leo said and introduced me. "nice to meet you," I said as I shook their hands. "we've heard a lot about you in the last few hours" June said and laughed. "we were all dying to meet you!" Priscilla exclaimed. "I told her, Leo was gonna show up with a wedding ring pretty soon" Wesley shouted from the porch. 

He was sitting around a group of men who were all drinking and playing cards. "Will that be the next surprise Leo?" June asked. "we'll see grandma" Leo said and laughed. 

After dinner we all went to the patio and sat around the fire and talked. "I love this song" I whispered as Begin Again by Taylor Swift started playing. "c'mon" Leo said and grabbed my hand. 

We stood in the middle of the floor and started dancing. 

"this is perfect" I whispered. "I promise I will always try to make it as perfect as possible" Leo whispered and kissed my forehead,"I'll cherish you no matter what" 

"he kept that promise, we became the thing he cherished the most" I said and smiled when I looked back at all the things Leo and I had done together. "was his family involved in his business?" the reporter asked. "everyone was, no way to escape it" I stated.
