Dan's P.O.V

Thomas' flat was small but not too small. Comforting, slightly. He had a big leather couch in front of a big flatscreen tv. A corridor was in one direction, a kitchen in another.

Thomas sat down on the couch and patted the side next to him, and I sat down there. He picked up a remote from the coffee table in front of him and turned on the tv, already showing the Netflix home screen.

"So... What do you want to watch? Horror, comedy, action?"

"Uh," I thought for a moment, and once I made my mind said, "Horror."

Thomas flipped through the categories looking for horror. Once he found it he slowly started going through each movie. He stopped on one called The Blair Witch Project.

"This one?" I nod. Having already seen this about a hundred times, I wasn't very scared at the start. "I'll make us popcorn." Thomas gets up from the seat and walks behind me.

I sit still on the couch and watch the familiar scene, quietly remembering what's going to happen next. It isn't more than a few moments later that I hear popping and smell the buttery scent. Thomas sits down with a bowl filled with the popped corn and occasional kernels.

"You know, most of the dialogue in this movie was improvised. Just a fun fact."

"Wow. College guys," he said. "They're so smart."

I rolled my eyes and said, "That's just something I saw online. It could be wrong for all we know." He hit his knee with my knee and I do the same to him.

"Are you sleepy?" He asked me.

"Not at all," I answered.

"Yeah," he said. "Me neither." I leaned over and put my head on his shoulder so I can see the screen better. The Blair Witch Project featured a small collection of jump scares and "creepy" locations, so it was not particularly difficult on the eyes, but it was mostly "ghost hunting" that failed to no avail.

I took my head off his shoulder for a moment to get a break from the content and watched Thomas watch the movie. He looked interested, more or less. I watched the screen through squinted eyes as the actors walked deeper into the forest.

I looked over at Thomas again. Even though the characters were getting more lost into the forest the farther they walked, Thomas seemed downright overjoyed about what they were doing. I nuzzled up to him again, but kept my eyes closed until the group found their way back to their camp site.

"Are you sure you're not tired?"

"No, not yet anyway."

"Well, thank you Dan, really. It's nice to have someone to talk to every once in a while," he says shyly. He continues to look at me and doesn't say anything. He leans in for a soft, innocent kiss. Our lips move together and don't separate.

His lips were soft and his breath was warm. Thomas was so comforting. And I loved it. He runs his fingers through my hair and leans back, me leaning forward. Thomas pulls away, smiling.

"That was nice," He says with a soft smile. He bites his lip and rolls his eyes. I fall back against the couch, unsure of what I should say next.

"Thomas," I say, unsure of what else I should add. It felt like everything was rising up in me, like I was drowning in this weirdly confusing happiness, but I couldn't say his comment back.

I just looked at him and let him look at me until he nodded, lips pursed, and turned away, changing his gaze to the TV. I didn't bring my head to his neck again, I just sat, as still as I was before, watching whatever was happening on the screen.

Finally, the movie ended and I could go home. After a while though, I started to get tired.

I stand. "Hey, Thomas." He looks up from the couch. "I think I'm going to go; to you know, finish studying."

He sighs, "Are you sure? I mean, I could walk you back, to campus?"

"Yeah, thanks. Only if you want though." Thomas laughs and pulls me toward the door, opening it once we get there. We walked out of the door and down a short flight of stairs before we get to the final entrance.

It was kind of cold outside, and I visibly displayed that, because holy hell was it cold! I shiver and feel a warm arm wrap around me. I lean in closer to Thomas and really take in the warmth.

We didn't really talk much. There wasn't much to talk about. And that was until we got just outside my dorm room. As soon as I got to the door, I started to speak.

"Thanks for taking me out today. I had fun."

Thomas laughs, "It's like we're two kids on our first date."

"Awkward, nervous, but actual kind of cute."

"I guess you could say that. But you know what happens at the end of this kind of thing?"

"What?" I ask, curious as to what he was hinting to.

"This." Thomas puts an arm around my waist and pulls me closer. He smiles before he leans in close enough, attaching our lips. It still felt warm. That comforting feeling lingered in the air. I couldn't help but think about Phil, and how wonderful it felt to kiss him.

But Phil and I aren't together. We broke up. And I can feel comforted with someone else. So I'll stay kissing Thomas because nothing is stopping me.

And with that, we finally pulled away. I smiled, maybe even blushed a little. Thomas laughed again as he waved to me and turned away, walking onto the pavement towards his flat. I open the door to the room and step in.

Chris is passed out which is good. I place my phone onto the bedside table and lay on my bed, giving in to the warmth of my duvet and quickly falling asleep.

um ?? i think i want to change my aesthetic ?? the flower aesthetic is cute and all but ?? i just can't think of another aesthetic that i really want to do besides a tv show type aesthetic ?? i was thinking parks and rec ?? from one episode where andy has makeup on that's in season five (i think) ?? it's cute believe me.

ill decide later if i like it so if you see the type of picture im talking about then that's the new aesthetic. i could always go back to the flowers so the flowers are never dead they're just on a hiatus (just like late 2000's fall out boy) not like mcr though.
