OK it's been like a year my b here's an update!! I'm bored as hell so I figured why not :)) //
I look at myself in the mirror, my hair dripping from my shower. Sighing, I call, "Lynn!"
Within a few short moments she's in here. I note that she changed into a black jersey and black skinny jeans. I smile a bit and gesture to my white crop top and red shorts. "I got dressed. Why did you want me to call you in here?"
She grins, walking to the counter. Her eyes scan the neat rows of makeup until she finds concealer, foundation, and powder. "We're going out." I open my mouth to protest, but she cuts me off. "No complaining. I let you hide in the apartment for 3 days because you didn't want people to see the bruises. But now, they're faded enough to be covered up, and we need to go shopping." I pout. "Sit."
She covers all the bruises and let's me do my makeup, and then she drags me to her car. As she drives, I eye my shoes. I had to settle for white vans ones of heels because of my healing ankle, and it sucks ass.
"Stop scowling at your ankle. We're here."
I look up to see the mall and I sigh. Here we go. As we walk to Dillards to buy dresses, we talk.
"You know," I start, "there isn't really a reason to go to this banquet thing. I mean besides the fact that its for our school and all. We aren't in the music program."
She rolls her eyes. "And? Its an excuse to get out of the house. We need to be sociable. Plenty of people are going that aren't involved."
We enter the store, walking to the back to find the dresses. My eyes scan the racks, looking for something good. I hadn't even been looking for 5 minutes before Lynn had 5 dresses in her hands. "I'm gonna try these on, you keep looking."
I nodded, waving her away. I walked to a rack near the isle, picking up a black and white lace dress. I bit my lip, looking it up an down.
"I think it'll look good on you."
I whirl around at the voice, almost knocking into Frank. My eyes widened, looking at him. He was wearing a white button up with a tie loose around his neck. I drew in a breath, calming myself. I opened my mouth to speak, but he held up his hands.
"Don't. I don't blame you for running out. First of all, we had just met, and second of all, you had just been beaten up. I wouldn't want to make out after that anyway."
I allowed his words to sink in, biting my lip. Before I could stop myself, I said, "I wish I hadn't run away."
He raised an eyebrow, but before he could respond, someone called his name. I turned to see Gerard Way. I'm fairly certain my eyes looked like they were going to pop out of my head. Frank smirked and called out, "Gee! Come here, I want you to meet someone."
I watched him walk over, his red hair standing out in this dull store. He stuck out his hand, and I shook it. My face must have looked pretty hilarious, because both of them started laughing. I blushed. "I'm Skylar."
Gerard stood up straight in a way I can only describe as sassy. "I'm Gerard Way."
My voice is somewhat strained and I mumble, "I know."
He laughs, spinning on his heel and starting to walk away. "Frank, I'm going to be by the shoes when you're done flirting or whatever."
My cheeks heat up as Frank looks at me, awkwardly scratching his head. Before either of us had a chance to say anything, Lynn walked up in a short white dress. She raised an eyebrow.
