This ones super short, but just for suspense purposes. Possible trigger warning i don't really know if it qualifies just be careful //
I sip the bottle of alcohol, welcoming the burning feeling as I swallow. I had changed into a long sleeve shirt to hide the cuts, but didn't bother to bandage them up. I don't know if I even care that I might bleed out. At least I wouldn't have to deal with a broken heart.
I put the alcohol down before I got shitfaced, curling up on the couch as another tear falls down my face. I thought I had already cried myself out, I guess I was wrong.
The mix of dehydration, blood loss, and alcohol was a nice was of dulling everything out, but it didn't completely diminish the pain.
The guy I loved didn't love me and my best friend gave up on me about two hours ago. I don't even know where she went. She just left, without a word. That's when I cleaned the blood off of myself and changed. I left the pool of blood on the floor though, I didn't have the energy to clean it.
My eyes drifted to my sleeve. I could see the blood seeping through the grey material, though I didn't care. My sleeve was heavier from soaking up the thick liquid, so it was still bleeding pretty heavily. I heard the door handle move, and I quickly crossed my arm to hide the blood. I also wiped my face, but I'm sure it was so red and blotchy that nothing would help by now.
In came two people, and they rushed to me as soon as they saw me. I avoided one persons eyes, looking straight at Lynn. In as strong a voice I could muster, I asked, "Why did you bring him here?"
Her mouth turned into a sad smile. "It took me a while to find him, but I had to know why he what happened on the phone since you wouldn't tell me. He had no clue you even called."
I looked down. "Butt dial."
"He also said he was with him friend, Jamia, and maybe you heard something and misinterpreted."
I lift my eyes to Franks, he looked sincere. I said, "So... what you told me last night wasn't a big lie?"
He shook his head. "No. I care about you more than anyone, Sky."
I sniff, using my sleeve to wipe my face again. I force a laugh. "So I guess I just read into things too much.. I don't even know why I cared so much, it's not like we're dating or anything. You don't owe me anything. Hell you can sleep with whoever you want, you're a grown ass adult."
His eyes flick to the bottle sitting next to me and back. He grabs each of my hands in his. "That doesn't mean I want anyone else." I only half-heard him. My vision was going blurry, and I could hardly think straight. He seemed alarmed. "Skylar? What's wrong?" Then he saw the blood. He panicked. Pushing up my sleeve. "Damnit, Skylar! Lynn call 911!"
I ignored him, mumbling, "I cared so much because I'm in love with you." And then everything went dark, my words echoing as I got sucked into the dark hole of unconsciousness.
