Chapter 1:

Kensi's pov:

"Daddy, can you pass me the syrup?" Avery says.

"Mom, Elliott's copying me." Sadie complains.

"Can I have an egg instead?" Jayden asks sweetly.

I moan and rest my head against the counter. It's only 7:30 and their already arguing. Deeks comes behind me and rubs my back.

"It's okay. 1 more hour and they'll all be in school" He whispered. I nodded and continued to make Jayden's egg. One more hour until complete and utter silence.

I hand Jayden her egg and she smiles gratefully. She's the one child that is the least of bit shy. That gives her lots of manners, that her twin brother Elliott, does not have.

Everyone finishes up they're breakfast and goes to get changed for the first day of school. Sadie, the oldest, is going into 2nd grade. She doesn't need much help. Elliott and Jayden are going into kindergarten. And our little monster Avery is going to be in her first year of preschool.

I walk into Jayden's room and she's sitting on her bed with her head down. She's taken her jammies off, but has made no attempt to put her school clothes on.

"Mommy, what if no one likes me?" Jayden whispers and my heart cracks.

"Baby, everyone is going to love you! And if they don't, they're missing out on an amazing little girl whose one of the cutest things ever" I say and tickle her tummy. She laughs and brings back that beautiful smile again.

"Thank you mommy. I love you." She says throwing hers arms around my neck for a hug. I squeeze her.

"I love you too, baby girl" I sigh. I help her get dressed into her grey and pink polka dot shirt with her jeans and some kids converse. I take her long dirty blonde hair into two braids and help her get her bag ready.

I walk into Elliott's room and he's trying to tie his converse. We've been working on tying shoes for about a week now and he almost has it. He's so close and then one loop falls out. I walk up to his shoe and tie it for him.

"Thanks mom" he smiles. He's wearing a green/blue shirt with jeans, and man does he have blue eyes. He got them from his father. Every one of our kids have blue eyes except for Sadie, and she got my brown eyes. She's also the only one who got my brown hair. Everyone else got they're fathers dirty blonde hair.

I peek into Sadie's room and she's packing her bag. "Finishing up?" I ask. She nods and I walk into Avery's room and smile at the sight.

She's running around the room in only her underwear and Deeks is trying to catch her.

"Come here you little monster!" Deeks laughs.

"Never!!" She giggles. Deeks catches her and spins her in the air. She rests her head on his shoulder and I grab my phone and take a picture. It's perfect.

Deeks puts Avery on the bed and dresses her in black leggings and a long light pink fluffy shirt. He combs out her insanely curly  hair and puts her in light pink flip flops.

"When did you grow up so fast monster?" He whispers stroking her hair with a sad look on his face. Avery wraps her arms around his neck once more and they grab her bag to go down into the kitchen.
