Chapter 8:

For the next few days, we are staying at Nã Pali Coast State Park. It has hiking trails, and 3 campgrounds. Avery and Sebastian are ready in their adorable adventuring outfits. Avery, with the faded denim overall romper and a flower long sleeve, and Sebastian in khaki shorts and a blue button up shirt. Avery has her hair in a bun, while Sebastian is sporting a hat.

We set up camp. Each family has its own tent. Meaning, Deeks and I are sharing with Sadie, Jayden, Elliott, and Avery. Callen and Anna together, Sam, Michelle, and Cam, Nell, Eric, and Sebastian. Hetty and Owen both have one to themselves.

While Sadie is missing air conditioning, Jayden, Elliott, Avery, and Sebastian go to play on the playground. I was watching the kids play on the playground, when a familiar voice came up behind me.

"Kensi?" I turned around to see who it was.

"Ray?" We hugged. "Gosh, the last time we saw each other was at the wedding!"

"Yea! So, how's it been, Wikipedia?" We sat down at the table I was sitting at before.

"It's been great, actually. Deeks and I are almost ten years married, with four children."

"Four?"

"Yup, that blonde curly mess over there is Avery." I pointed at a little girl in pink, running away from Sebastian, who has a worm. "The blonde boy and girl on the swings are Elliot and Jayden. They're twins." I turned around, and saw Sadie laying on the floor of the tent, with her hair in a giant frizz ball, from the humidity. "And that preppy, frizz ball is our oldest, Sadie."

"Wow. They're beautiful." Then, Deeks walked over.

"Ray?" He said confused.

"Hey, Marty." He stood up, and they did that weird fist bump, hug thing guys do. "Wikipedia was telling me that you all have four little ones."

"Yup, and they're perfect. Like my hair." Ray laughed, and I rolled my eyes.

"Ray, what are you doing in Hawaii?" I asked.

"I decided, I needed a vacation, and decided to fly out to Hawaii."

"Awesome. Hetty gave the team this trip." We caught up, until Ray had to go.

We're back in Los Angeles, and getting back into the routine of school and work. Deeks took the kids to school, so I could have some peace and quiet. I had a really bad headache, and I don't know why. As soon as they pulled out of the driveway, I crashed on the couch. I mean I must've been deep asleep, because the next thing I knew was I was covered up with a blanket, and it was noon. I looked over at the foot of the couch, and saw Deeks.

"Deeks? Why aren't we at work?"

"Kensi, baby, you're sick." He got up, and bent down by the side of the couch my face was on."

"I am?" I asked.

"Yea, I got home, and saw you passed out on the couch. I felt your forehead, you were burning up. So I called Hetty, and she gave us the day off."

"Oh."

"Go back to sleep. You need it." I started going to sleep again. I woke up a few hours later, and got up to go to the bathroom. Next thing I knew was I was throwing up. I cleaned up the vomit that missed the toilet, and went to sleep in mine and Deeks' bed. I heard Deeks and the kids come home, and he sent them to go do homework in the dining room. And no fighting. He came into our room, and crawled in the bed next to me. He started running circles on my back.

"I called Callen and Anna, and asked if they would bring over some pizza, pop, and ice cream. They said they would, and hope you feel better."

"Thanks babe." I fell asleep again. And didn't wake up til morning. I felt a little bit better, but I still needed to stay home. I told Deeks he should go into work, so he did. I decided to go out by the pool, and lay out. It felt so good to soak in the sunshine, but I decided to go back inside once I got a little sweaty. I took a bath, and went back to sleep. I woke up to Sadie running into my room with a flyer in her hand.

"Mommy! Mommy! Mrs. Amy, the music teacher, gave me a flyer for the talent show, after I sang for the class." I sat up.

"Baby! That's awesome!! Wait, I've never heard you sing before."

"I sing in the shower." Sadie has some sass.

"Well, sing something for me." She started singing Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift. And she sounded like a pro. I was surprised at how mature her voice sounds. She is gonna be a star, and I'm not just saying that because she's my baby girl. That girl can sing!

"Sadie! I wonder how you can sing that good," considering Deeks and I sound like dying cats when we sing. "You're amazing."

"Thanks mommy! And I love singing. Is there any other contests I can sing in."

"Baby, this is Los Angeles, you can sing anywhere."

"Ok!! Yay!!!"

It's the day of the talent show, we bought Sadie new pair of Jack Rogers Shelby wedges, in hot pink, and a black and white striped t shirt dress. Her dark brown hair has been getting lighter, blondish, and has a few blonde streaks in it. We invited the team to come, and hear her sing. Sam, Anna, and Callen were the only ones who could make it. She got up on stage, and everyone started cheering. She sang her heart out to Sam Smith's "Not the Only One" and I looked over at Anna, Sam, and Callen's faces. Their jaws down, and eyes big. After Sadie finished, she got a standing ovation from every single person in the crowd. She ended up winning first place in the talent show, and a man in a black tie suit came up to us afterwards.

"Hello, Sadie. I'm Andrew Tipton, and I see some real potential in you. I'm hosting a karaoke contest at Karaoke and Pizza for Kids. Why don't you come sing Friday night." Sadie looked to me.

"Mommy, can I?" She begged.

"Sure! Why not?"
