Chapter 1(Written all in Dima's P.O.V.)
„Dude, you eat like a fucking bear!“ Rayne exclaimed. He and Sasha, my two best friends, were watching me from across the table at the local bar. I was currently stuffing my face with the most unhealthy thing I could find on the menu. And that would be a hamburger the size of my head, tons of fries and some sort of icy drink that was practically all sugar.
“Ah, but you are wrong my friend. I’m not a bear, I’m a wolf. And so are you if I’m not mistaken. Or are you a kitty?” I teased, avoiding the napkin he threw at me and biting down at the burger, moaning to the sweet-flavory-goodness.
“How the hell did you get out of the compound alone anyway?” Sasha asked.
“I knocked out my bodyguard.” I said innocently while trying to chew. And I honestly have no idea how that worked.
Rayne and Sasha burst out laughing uncontrollably.
“What?! I had to get out of there. It was suffocating. Plus, they wouldn’t let me eat anything with an ounce of fat on it.” I explained and shrugged.
I was the feared alphas son. Usually wearing my stoic expression. The only emotion I knew of was anger. I was built to fight and to lead.
Yeah, yeah.
That’s what my father said.
And it was true… unless I was with my best friends.
My father was currently on a meeting with another pack alpha and considering she’s his mate, my mother was with him.
They wouldn’t be back for a couple of days, so that means I’m free!
For now.
I just needed to knock out my bodyguard long enough to escape. I didn’t mind fighting him because I knew I’d win, but I didn’t want to bruise the man up even more.
My life was tiring.
“Hey Dima, don’t turn around now. A guy’s been staring at you since you came in here.” Rayne said as he lifted his glass for a drink casually. Sasha nodded a few times, acting like he was agreeing with Rayne.
Did I mention the two of them were training with me from the age of five?
Yeah, Sasha was the brains of our trio, I was the muscle and Rayne was the executioner.
“What does he look like?”
“Short, black hair, dark blue eyes, solid muscle. I can’t determine the height, but I’d say that he’s probably taller than us. He’s wearing a leather coat, black T-shirt, black pants and heavy combat boots. And if I’m not mistaken, he’s a vampire.” Sasha said with a casual smile.
Shit.
“Dima, that’s the King of the vampire coven that’s supposed to arrive here soon. We need to move.” Rayne explained and set his glass down.
“How do you know?” stupid question. It was his fucking job to know. He probably studied the coven that was supposed to come here inside out when my father announced they would be coming.
He raised one of his black eyebrows and put on his game face.
No more fucking around, I see.
“Let’s go.” I said and got up, leaving the booth. The three of us casually walked past the bar, greeting the bartender and out the door.
“We need to go to the compound. They’re supposed to be friendly, but I don’t want to take any chances.” Rayne and Sasha nodded and we headed for the parking lot.
