2.3 - Confessions

"So, has Ashton explained anything yet?" Luke asked the cat-boy, as the three of them (himself, Michael and Ashton) were sitting around the dinner table, eating dinner.

"It was your idea, wasn't it." Ashton narrowed his eyes at the blonde, making Luke grin. "Not exactly. Michael came with the questions, Calum tried to explain and I then suggested that he should ask you."

Michael looked from Ashton to Luke and back, his ears perked up and his tail flicking from side to side in curiosity. Mostly to what the conversation would lead to.

"I find it quite funny Calum couldn't explain it, since the two of you are such bunnies."

"Are not."

"Oh you definitely are, don't play innocent." Ashton grumbled, looking at the blonde pointedly. Luke shrugged, playing with his lip ring. "Whatever. Just wait until you two get there."

"I never-"

"Don't deny it, Irwin. You're at least attracted to him." Luke looked at the other sternly, making Ashton press his lips together. Michael, however, sat there in confusion, no longer following the conversation.

"Fine. I am. But it'll never work out." Ashton sighed softly in defeat, looking down at his plate and playing with his food.

"Says who? Have you never noticed how well Calum is doing? I'm in a relationship with him, aren't I? Why wouldn't it work for the two of you?" Luke shot back, crossing his arms as he had put down his fork. Ashton simply sighed again, going over the words a few times, before furrowing his eyebrows and looking up. "You're in a relationship with him?"

Luke's eyes widened, a faint blush appearing on his cheeks. "Eh.. yeah."

Ashton smiled slowly. "Well, I'm happy. But you could've informed me earlier."

"Yeah, well, it only happened yesterday, but like, yeah." Luke shrugged, looking down at his plate and continuing to eat his dinner. Ashton chuckled, shaking his head and then also continuing with his food.

"Mich-ael lost." Michael pouted, his ears lowered sadly and his tail hanging limply behind him. He wasn't really sad, but he had learned that if he pretended to with his ears and tail and if he also pouted, the boys would mostly give him what he wanted (blame Calum). Which in this case were answers.

Both the other boys looked up with a questioning hum, a sadness falling upon them as they saw the poor boy like that. "Lost what?"

"Not idea what talking a-about." Michael huffed, still pouting and now crossing his arms. Luke chuckled, finishing his food and then getting up, "have fun boys."

With that, Ashton was left with Michael, who was still pouting and looking sad. The boy groaned, making Michael's ears perk up lightly as he felt like he was closing in on the answer he wanted. "We should talk."

"Are talking." The cat-boy pointed out, looking at the other in slight confusion, because yeah, they were talking already, right?

"True," Ashton chuckled, "but let's just finish our dinner and move to my room? Is that okay?"

Michael nodded, turning back to his food and doing as said. They both ate the rest of their dinner in silence, Ashton kind of dreading what was to come. He had no idea how the cat-boy would take it.

Once they were done, Michael skipped to the other's room, while Ashton bought himself some time and cleaned up the kitchen. But eventually he had to give in and also went to his room, opening the door and smiling as he saw Michael sprawled out on his bed. The cat-boy was lying on the bed like a starfish, his tail flicking from side to side slowly as he had his face buried in one of the pillows. "Any room for me on there?"
