"Are you okay?" A nurse came from behind me, startling me.

"My back just hurts, real bad." I answered.

She sighed, "That can mean a lot of things for someone who's pregnant. You should come with me and get yourself and the baby checked out."

"But I can't leave Vic's side." I frowned.

"Well, Vic is in our care and he'll be just fine. But the baby needs to be seen, Kellin, back pains can mean early labor, miscarriage, contractions, anything. Come on." She pried.

My eyes went wide in horror and I kissed Vic's hand before I got up and left with her.

"Who's your usual doctor?" She asked.

"Dr. Ashby." I answered, she gave me a small nod.

"He isn't here today but you need to get checked so I'll find someone."

I nodded, even though I didn't like the idea of a new doctor checking me out and going down there.

It made me uncomfortable. But since it was for my baby's safety then I'd deal with it.

"It's nothing too bad, you're just stressing. We're suggesting bedrest for the rest of your pregnancy." The fill in doctor told me.

I nodded. "Will I be able to see Vic while he's here still?"

"As long as you aren't moving around too much, I don't see why not."

I hated that I had to be put on bed rest. I hated being lazy and now I pretty much have to be for another four and a half months.

Then it donned on me, my run in with Jaime's brother in the parking lot.

"Someone pushed me into my car, my stomach hit first, obviously.."

"Well, that could be why you're in pain. All the tests excluded any possible injuries the baby could have gotten, so you just need to rest up." She smiled reassuringly at me.

One thing I was happy about was that my baby boy was a fighter. No matter what, he hasn't given up yet and I just know he isn't going to any time soon.

Vic has been in the hospital for around two weeks now, he gained consciousness a few days after he was stabbed. We still haven't found out who it was, but the police are working on it. No one has tried to attack us again since were in the hospital, there's too much security.

It was sad that I felt safer in a hospital than in my own home.

The doctors want to keep an eye on Vic, so he's staying for a few more days before he gets discharged, but according to him he's been feeling better.

He said the guy who stabbed him had large stretched ears, a piercing below his eye and tattoos, semi-long hair, and he was wearing a snap back, with jeans and a tank top and vans.

The police are doing research on him, including looking at street surveillance cameras to find people who match his description and rule out innocents.

I was just over this. This bullshit better be over by the time my baby comes, I will move out of state, out of country, whatever it takes. It was insane that this could happen because one person was obsessed with another.

It made me sad to think about what this world has come to, that me and my family were involved as much as we didn't want to be and as much as we didn't deserve it.

"Kell? Are you ready to go home?" Vic asked me.

"Um, yeah. Sure, I guess. I'm just nervous. I don't exactly feel safe.."

He just sighed, he knew there wasn't much he could say because he damn near felt the same. He almost got murdered for fucks sake.

"But, it's going to be okay." I said, though I was even unsure of myself.

"Yeah," he smiled at me. "You know what? It will. Let's go."

And with that, he took my hand and we were off to the car. He drove us home and we spent the rest of the day, thankfully, in peace.

We had lunch and watched a few movies, relaxed and I even took a nap. After my nap, we had dinner and dessert and when we were finished with that, I went to the couch to sit, resting my hand on my tummy. I wasn't expecing what happened next, at least not so soon; the baby kicked.

My eyes went wide and shivers ran down my spine as I felt the life that was forming inside of me. "Vic?"

"Yes, darling?"

"Come here."

"Is everything okay?" He asked, making his way out to me.

I nodded and grabbed his arm when he was in reach, putting his hand where the baby had previously kicked. I saw a smile form on his face and I knew then that he had felt it too. It was so special, so magic.

"I think it's time to give him a name, don't you?" I asked. He smiled, sitting beside me.

"Absolutely."

"I was thinking along the lines of Adrian?" I finished as if it was a question, but the way his face lit up had shown me that there was no question about it.

"And for the middle name, I think Luca sounds cool." He said, I smiled wider.

"Adrian Luca Fuentes."

"Sounds like a plan." He said, leaning in and kissing me softly.

Adrian Luca Fuentes.
