"Get this fucking thing out of me!" I screamed, as Vic held my hand and the doctors continued to encourage me to push.
I closed my eyes, my hair was matted in sweat and sticking to my forehead, but my mind was only on the baby, and that was enough to make me continue. I held my breath and pushed real hard, whining and squeezing Vic's hand until it turned white.
"Come on Kells, you can do this. You're almost there." He cooed.
"It fucking hurts!" I snapped, but I didn't mean to. Vic knew that though and kept his cool.
"It's okay, you're okay. Come on." He smiled at me reassuringly, as I gave another push, putting all of the effort I could manage into it.
"He's crowning." The doctor said, "One more big push Kellin." She said, encouragingly, so I did.
I gave another big push like the last, and I felt the baby slip out of me.
"Oh, my baby.." I said quietly, letting out a sigh of relief.
"Congratulations, you have a perfectly healthy baby boy!" One of the nurses cooed as the cries of our baby filled the room.
"Adrian Luca Fuentes." I whimpered, as Vic stroked my hair out of my face and kissed my temple.
"You did so great, Kell." He whispered to me while the nurse cut Adrian's cord.
I couldn't help but smile. Things were starting to look up, at least a little bit. But I knew when they placed my little angel in my arms that it would be okay. He smiled at him in amazement, but I was so tired.
Just moments later, the nurse took him to clean him up, weigh and measure him, as well as doing some other tests as they do after a baby is born. They did his footprint and helped me and Vic fill out his birth certificate.
It wasn't much longer after that before I was drifting into a deep slumber, exhausted from delivering my beautiful baby boy.

When I woke up, Vic was beside my bed, holding Adrian. I smiled at him, faintly. "He's so beautiful.."
He just nodded, staring at him intently. "He.. He's our baby, Kellin. We made him.." He whispered. "We're a.. a family." He smiled widely.
I couldn't help but to smile too, because I loved seeing him so happy. I'm glad our family was what made him smile.
"Wanna hold him?" He asked. I nodded, so he handed Adrian to me and I held him for a long, long time. I couldn't stop, I was absolutely mesmerized.
This was our baby. This was our family. This was our life.
Things would be okay and I could see that now. I was absolutely happy with where we were at.

Over the next few days, before I was discharged along with Adrian from the hospital, I was surprised at how many things I had to learn in order to take care of a baby, but once the nurses showed me and Vic what we needed to know, we caught on pretty quickly.
I was so excited to be taking our little angel home, finally. The waiting was over and we were officially a family. Vic carried Adrian to the car in his car seat while the nurse took me out in a wheelchair.
I got in the back, sitting next to the spot where Vic fastened in the car seat. I smiled faintly at the little boy with the big brown eyes, just like his father. He cooed and reached his hand out toward mine so I gave him my finger, which he gratefully took in his tiny little hand.
When we got home, I took Adrian inside the apartment and put the car seat down on the table, taking him out of it. "Hey buddy." I said in a baby voice. "I'm your daddy."
He smiled and swatted his hands toward me, with a wide smile.

The first few weeks were the hardest to adjust to. Me and Vic were constantly up at night, checking on Adrian and taking care of his needs. He was a handful, but he was the best damn thing that ever happened to me. It is about 4 in the morning, and I'm sitting in a rocking chair and feeding Adrian a bottle to put him back to sleep. Once he fell asleep, I took him into mine and Vic's room and placed him in the bassinet.
I laid beside Vic and snuggled close to him. It didn't take long for me to fall back asleep because I was exhausted. I felt a kiss on the top of my head before I did though.
Things were okay, no, things were more than okay actually. They were great. I couldn't ask for anymore than this. I was absolutely grateful for my family.

The next few months flew by and before I knew it, Adrian was already 6 months old. That means he would be one in half of a year. I couldn't stand the thought. This was not okay, my little munchkin needed to be little forever.
It's Christmas day and we helped Adrian open all his presents, now me and Vic were left. When I opened the present Vic got me, I gasped in shock and looked at the crazy Mexican that I fell for over and over again. He was on one knee. "Kell, I know we haven't known each other for more then two years, but I love you and this family is all I need. Will you marry me?"
Tears filled my eyes and I nodded eagerly. "Yes, yes I'll marry you!" I jumped into his arms and kissed him hard. "I love you so, so much. Thank you, for everything. I couldn't ask for anyone better to have come into my life that night at the party." I murmured. He smiled and kissed me gently, pulling me close.
"I love you, Kellin Quinn."
"I love you too, Victor Fuentes."
