Miley's POV

2:30 PM

I was now 24 weeks pregnant, and my baby bump has gotten even bigger. Liam and I have been tossing around a few names, but we haven't actually come up with anything yet. We were just getting ready to leave for my appointment.

"Geez, this little guy has been so active lately." I say, rubbing my belly.

"I know, I've felt you toss and turn a lot lately in bed."

"At least I know he's moving." Then Liam helps me up off the couch and I grab my phone. Then Liam grabs his phone and keys before we head out the door.

When we got to the doctor's office it was literally two minutes before my appointment.

"Nice going, Liam."

"What?" He asks.

"We're almost late thanks to you." I say as we walk into the building.

"Hey, I'm driving safe for your safety, not cause I wanna be late." He says defensively.

"Pfft. Whatever."

"Miley." A nurse says. Then we walk and follow her to a room.

"You guys were almost late I presume? I saw you walk into the building as I came out." She says, then I nod.

"Well if someone wouldn't drive like an old woman then maybe we would've been here earlier." I snap at Liam.

"Well maybe this somebody likes to keep his wife and baby safe." He says.

"Go ahead and step on the scale now, Miley." The nurse says, then I step on the scale, and she weighs me. Then she finishes checking my vitals. "Dr. Cooper will be here soon." Then she leaves.

"Ya know what? You need to chill the hell out and actually not drive so slow. Like seriously, you do know you can get a ticket for driving too slow, right? So stop driving like an old woman and drive like a normal person." I say to Liam.

"Well sorry for me trying to keep you and the baby safe. I don't wanna drive like a maniac and get you killed." He says.

"Oh whatever. You know, driving slow is hazardous too." I snap.

"I know that, but I'm not driving that slow and you know it. I'm going the speed limit. I know you're a faster driver, but you need to know I'm doing it for your safety." He defends.

"You know what? I-" Then Dr. Cooper comes in.

"Am I interrupting?" She asks.

"N- no. We were just arguing about something stupid." I say.

"Okay. So how has everything been?" She asks me, then I lift up my shirt.

"Fine. He's really been kicking up a storm...is that normal?"

"How much has he been kicking?"

"Enough to where I can't even hardly sleep at night. My stomach has really been hurting too."

"On a scale of one to ten, how bad?" She asks.

"Um...maybe six. Is this all normal?" I reply.

"I'm going to touch your stomach, and tell me when it hurts." Then I nod. Then she touches around my belly button, and I make an uncomfortable face. Then she touches below it.

"Ow." I say.

"How about here?" Then she touches the sides of my stomach, and I shake my head no. "So just around and below your belly button?"

"Yeah."

"Is that where the baby has been kicking most of the time?" Then I nod. "Well, I'm pretty sure nothing's wrong. Right there could just be sore because he's been kicking there so often. It usually happens."

"Okay. As long as nothing is wrong." Then she smiles. Then she squirts the goo on my stomach. Soon later we heard the heartbeat, and this time it was much louder.

"Does that make you happy, Liam? Hearing the heartbeat louder?" Dr. Cooper asks Liam, and he nods with a smile.

"Woah." I say. The baby was really moving a lot.

"Look up at the screen." Then Dr. Cooper points to the screen. He was moving and we could see it. I got really choked up. "That's the baby moving right there."

"That's awesome."

"Wanna see something cool?" She asks, then I smile and nod my head. Then she pushes on my stomach, and we see the baby kick and move across the screen. Then she pushes on the opposite side of my stomach and the baby moves again.

"Woah." I say with a smile. "That's cool."

"He's responding to my touches. If you occasionally poke or push on your stomach he'll kick or move in response." She says, then wipes off my stomach and I put my shirt down.

"That's really cool, thank you." I say, then Liam helps me sit up.

"The baby looks fine, heartbeat sounds healthy, he's actually a good size too."

"You know how big he is?" I ask.

"Yeah. He's about thirteen inches, one and two thirds of a pound. A little bigger than some others at twenty-four weeks, but it's perfectly normal for him to be a little bigger." Then I nod. "I'll see you in about eight weeks. That'll make you thirty-two weeks. Okay?"

"Okay." I say. Then she smiles and leaves. Then Liam and I walk out of the room and to the front desk.

"Another appointment?" The receptionist asks.

"Yeah, eight weeks." I reply.

"How does September 10th at 2:00 sound?" She asks.

"Sounds good. Thanks." I say before Liam and I leave.

When we got in the car, we buckled up and he started the car.

"You were kinda quiet in there. Is it what I said?"

"Of course not, Miley. It isn't what you said. I'm just...wow. Three months and we'll have our baby."

"I know, isn't it crazy how fast time has gone by?" I ask.

"Yeah..." He says.

"What's wrong?" I ask.

"Nothing, I'm fine." Then he drives out of the parking lot and we head home.

There's something he isn't telling me... I thought to myself. Hopefully he is not having second thoughts about this baby...
