The Experience

Early in the afternoon, my parents came from work, to pick me up. I had no idea they were coming so early and was not ready at all, so I was rushing around because I had like 10 minutes to find an outfit, put my makeup on and get my purse together.

I was planning on wearing my Marianas Trench tshirt from the first concert of theirs, but then I realized I had a big green stain on it (who knows what from!) so it was back to square one outfit-wise. I settled on a grey V-neck tshirt, with my high waisted jean shorts, white leggings and my Converse. Then put some makeup on, then grabbed my tiny black sling purse. We drove to the train station, and took a train downtown.

We grabbed some dinner, then walked around. About a half hour before the show, we joined a line to get into the concert. The line was quick and soon enough we were inside the venue. I wanted to get a Marianas Trench shirt but the line was extremely long. We decided to come back later.

We met up with Mike's family friend, who got us the back stage passes, took a trip to the bathroom then took our seats and prepared for the awaiting concert. She also gave me my backstage pass which was this really cool sticky fabric paper. It had the picture of the band in their Ever After attire with the date on it.

During the opening band's performance, we decided to go and buy my shirt. The lineup was still unbelievably long and we waited about 20 minutes. When we got up to the front I chose my shirt, got a poster and a glow in the dark Face The Music wristband.

When we got back to the concert the opening band was just about finished. Then we waited for the crew to set up and Marianas Trench came on! They opened with Ever After, as predicted, and Josh came out in a Jack in the Box! It was clever. He was wearing these bright blue sparkly leather pants. Eventually the rest of the band came out and Mike was wearing an "Awesome" shirt!

The concert was awesome! At one point Josh was running around in the audience and people were swarming him and booking it from their seats! Eventually he made it back to the front of the audience who were all grabbing him. He was like "this is not a wrestling match, be nice to each other!" Because people were fighting for a chance to touch him!

Another point in the concert, when they played Truth or Dare, Josh and Ian switched places and the whole band was playing drums. It was really different and cool!

We also got two encores of Josh singing and playing guitar acoustically Skin and Bones and Lover Dearest. He said Lover Dearest is a tough one to sing and they don't do it very often. It was amazingly sang.

After an AMAZING show, Mike's family friend led me backstage and we went through security. I was the only one with a pass but she managed to get my parents backstage too. She told them to come as far as they could without getting stopped my security. On the way to the back room I saw some guys from the opening band and kinda of fangirled over a really cute member who smiled at me! I just stared at him and gasped while covering my mouth, while he continued to smile at me. The good part was I got my fangirling out before meeting the band, the real reason I was there! It was pretty embarrassing though!

We continued walking up this narrow beige staircase. We got right outside the backstage room and the security guard looked at me motioning for my pass. I said "oh do you need to see my pass" so I got my pass out. Then he asked my mom (who didn't actually have a pass) and my mom asked Mike's family friend if she had the passes as a coverup. She told him we were all family and we kept walking! Technically we weren't family, but family friend was close enough. So my family managed to get into the backroom to meet the band as well.
