When I got to my car, Nathan was already there and swinging my keys back and forth in his hand, with a big smile on his face.

"Success!" I cheered. "Thanks Nathan, you're the best!"

"No problem, good thing you called me when you did. It got really busy as soon as I left to come help you. My sister's going to have to deal with it though, I'm off for the rest of the day!" he said excitedly.

"Awesome! I can't wait for tonight! I'm going to call Adrianna to come to my house so we can pick our outfits together. Or more like get you, our little fashionista, to tell us what to wear!" We both laughed.

Ring.....ring.....

"Hello?" Adrianna answered.

"Hey! It's Miranda!"

"Hey M! What are you doing off so early? I thought you had to work late," she asked.

"Vicky came and rescued me!"

"That's great!"

"I know! Anyways Nathan's with me now, I'll tell you the story of my day when we see you."

"Tell him I say hi!"

"I will."

"So we'll be at my house in about 20 minutes. Can you be there by then?" I asked her.

"Yeah of course."

"See you then!"

"Bye!"

I hung up my cell.

"Ready to go?" I asked Nathan.

"Yeah. I'll drive behind you. Allons-y!"

We both got into our cars and drove away with me blaring Masterpiece Theatre the whole time.

About 15 minutes later I felt my phone vibrate. I quickly glanced at the text from Adrianna saying:

"Here I am, you can take or leave me, but I won't ever be anywhere but here. At your place now ;)"

I laughed at the witty song quote. This is why Adrianna and I were best friends.

I pulled up into the parking lot of my apartment building with Nathan close behind me.

I moved here because it was close to the Medical graduate school I was going to this September. I was living at home for my undergrad, but decided that at 22 years old I was ready to step out on my own and move to the heart of the city for my grad degree.

I saw Adrianna and waved. She was carrying a dress bag and a duffle bag. It must be all the outfits she has that Nathan's told her to bring, so she can find one suitable for tonight.

We all walked up to the main doors, said hello to each other, then started talking about tonight.

"Do you think they'll sing Lover Dearest?"

"What am I gonna say when I meet them?"

"What do you think the band will be wearing?"

The conversation continued like that all the way up the elevator ride to the 11th floor where I lived.

Once we walked through the doors of my apartment, Nathan said, "Okay let's get down to business- fashion business."

He went through the living room to my bedroom on the left and started looking through all my clothes.

"Hmm...too dressy...too casual....THIS is perfect!" He picked out a long, diagonally and asymmetrically striped shirt. He paired it with black leggings, some black velvet pumps, and my leather jacket. He handed me the pile of clothes.

"Now go try this on," he ordered. So I went to my bathroom to change. While I was in there, I washed out my hair from the hairspray I had in it, while it was up in a bun for work. I combed through my wet hair and added some product to keep the curls together for when it dries.

Make-up wise, I added my usual black eyeliner, mascara and a bit of foundation. I then added some smoky-eye eyeshadow to accentuate my blue eyes.

All I heard was a muffled, "Don't think you can escape me, you're next!" from Nathan. Poor Adrianna, she wasn't one to want or need fashion advice, but she was getting it anyways.

When I came back they said in unison "that's perfect! It looks great!"

"Thanks guys!"

"Okay Adrianna, go change, I want to see how this outfit looks on you," Nathan ordered.

She came back a few moments later with a pair of black skinny jeans, a black Marianas Trench tshirt from when we first saw them in concert, and a denim jacket with red pumps to bring out the red accents in the shirt. She also had her light blonde hair up in a high ponytail.

"You look great Adrianna!" I said, "And great pick Nathan!"

"Thanks!" they replied happily.

"Okay Nathan, it's your turn," Adrianna said with a gleam in her eye. She must've been thinking "payback time."

"What do you mean my turn?" he asked.

"For fashion advice. Don't think because you helped us out doesn't mean we're not helping you!" I said.

He laughed, "but I'm already ready!"

I looked at his outfit, and he was right. He was wearing light blue ripped jeans, a bright blue tshirt, and his leather jacket. It looked great for the concert, until I realized what were on his feet...

Crocs.

"THOSE have got to go!" Adrianna smiled, and pointed to his choice of footwear.

"Oh damn! I forgot to change my shoes before I left!"

"There is no way we'll be seen with you in public wearing those!" Adrianna said, giggling. She always hated that style of show, unless they were on young children, but that was the only exception.

"Oh wait! When I had some friends over, one of my friend's boyfriend's left some shoes here. He forgot to grab them after going in the common area pool," I told them, "you can borrow those."

I went to the boot-rack and handed Nathan the shoes. They were black boarding shoes with white laces, and looked relatively new.

"Great! These'll do," he said happily.

"And to think we almost let you walk out of the house wearing THOSE!" Adrianna chuckled. She was never going to let him live this down.

"Okay come on guys, be nice to each other and let's go!"
