Day one
They arrived at our packhouse and destroyed everything, our houses, our farms, our forest.
They called everyone to the courtyard and made the parents line up seperately to us kids. They walked down our lines with their guns hanging over their shoulders.
There was one man wearing a white lab coat amongst the men with guns, he was carrying a clipboard and looked at every one of us children as though we were objects for him to buy.
The youngest child was two years old and the oldest was seventeen. I along with my twin brother Kayden am seven years old. We were born in September and we both had jet black hair, mine fell to the small of my back whilst his was short and slightly curly." Sis, don't be scared, I'll protect you." my brother whispered in my ear.
They came to a young boy three people ahead of me, he was about four years old, the man in the lab coat looked at him and then called one of the guards over to him, the guard placed a steel brace around his arms and picked him up harshly. The small boy started crying for his parents and I heard his parents wailing and his mother screamed as he was thrown into the back of a truck.
I held onto my brothers hand behind me as the man passed the kids infront of me. My body shook in fear as he stopped nexto me, my brother growled when he grabbed my chin and lifted my face to stare at his. My mom and dad screamed and struggled against the men who had them restrained at gunpoint. My dad was the alpha and I could see the pain in his eyes at not being able to protect his pack. I screamed and struggled as much as my little body could as the guard snapped the cold metal around my wrists. Kayden tried to keep hold of my hand as he tried to drag me away but the man knocked him onto the ground, "KAYDEN, MOM, DAAAD" I screamed with all of my strength, I felt my small heart break as I watched my brother scream for me and my parents held at gunpoint.
As I was thrown into the dark truck, I saw the man skip my brother and move onto the next kid. At least my brother is safe. I was lying in the dark truck when another guard came and locked me in a cage like thing, there were five cages in the truck and I could only just make out the little boy opposite from me.
After shivering in the dark for what felt like hours but was only minutes there was a loud clang as an older boy was thrown into the truck, the boy looked up at me and I saw that it was my cousin Mark. He was fifteen and looked like he was trying hard not to cry. I pressed against the bars, as close as I could get to him, he was in the cage next to me, I grabbed onto him and started crying, "shhhh, it's alright Skylar, everything is gonna be fine." He tried to soothe me, " whats gonna happen to us?" I asked him in between the sobs that wrought through my tiny chest. " I dont know Sky, I dont know." He said to me as he hugged me as best he could through the bars.
I bolted upright when the trucks door slammed shut, leaving us in pitch darkness. I fell asleep listening to Marks soothing murmers as the truck left behind the forest I had spent the first seven years of my life in.
