"Congratulations on getting the job."

"Thanks." Louis had said to the woman standing in front of his desk. She was wearing a dark gray pencil skirt with a white button up shirt. Her hair was light brown thrown up in a tight bun and her eyes were just as dark as her nails; deep blue. Her name tag read Lily.

"When do I start?" Louis asked somewhat excited. He knew he was going to deal with suicidal, crazy-ish, depressed patients, even some with disorders but that didn't stop him from being a bit happy. He was happy because he was actually going to do something with his life,  help people.

"Today, actually. We have someone scheduled for you already." Lily handed Louis a manila folder. He felt as if he were a detective on a criminal case ready to start to his mission.

"Really?" Louis' eyes were probably shining, but then he felt the palms of his hands start to get clammy, the nervous feeling he had been waiting for earlier was starting to sink in.

"Yes. You have thirty minutes before he gets here. He'll be here at seven, so you have till then to do whatever, do you want me to bring you a cup of coffee?" She asked clumsily as she walked towards the door almost tripping over a chair near the exit. She quickly composes her self and moves a loose strand out of her face. Gripping the clipboard she had brought in with her.

"Um yes please, Also.. Can you tell me where the restroom is?"

"Yea it's across the hall, is that all?" Louis nods as to give his thanks. "Alright well i'm going to go make you that coffee and ill be off."

"Thanks." Louis stands up and practically runs to the restroom, he had been holding it in since he got to his new office, which had been about two hours ago.

When he gets back to his room , there's coffee waiting for him on his desk with a note tapped to his laptop.

Good luck with your patient, a lot of people have given up on him :( -lily

Louis rereads the note a couple of times, his attention going to the frowny face. He found it a tad unprofessional, but as soon as he got over the small detail , he wondered why  someone would do that? Therapists were supposed to be there to help, and it says in the books no matter what they say, help them. Louis had read every single word of that dammed book, even the subscripts.

He sat down at his desk and took out his phone. Going through his contacts before his finger hovered over a number he wanted -Zayn's.  It rang three times before someone was answering him. Louis skipped the greetings and got straight to the point, telling him to swing by. Zayn was quick to tell Louis he'd be there in five.

About ten minutes later his door was being opened and Louis was met with honey coloured eyes and jet black hair. "Hey Dr. Tomlinson." He said making air quotations around Louis' name as a way to mock his friend who had studied seven years to earn the title. Louis rolled his eyes in annoyance.

"Zayn." He warned. The dark haired friend just laughed and sat down.

And after a nineteen minutes of talking he finally asked the cliche  question.

"So how do you like it so far?"

"I get my first patient today." Louis said about to open the file the woman had given him, but before he could he heard a light knock on the door. "Dr. Tomlinson." He turned towards the doorway to see Lily holding a clipboard trying to look professional. "Mr. Styles is here to see you now." Styles? Must be my patient.  He thought.

Louis looked at Zayn and gave him an apologetic look. "Call me later, we can go get some late night dinner." Louis only nodded as Zayn walked out of his new office.

"Send him in." He said politely. She nodded and stepped out. Louis opened the folder and read over it quickly, only really catching a few words that stood out, 'attempted suicides' 'self harm' 'bulimia, anorexia'.

Louis closed the folder already sad. He would have to deal with someone, with things he knew all too well about.

Louis turned all his attention to the door when he heard someone clear their throat. As he looked up he saw a beautiful curly haired boy with green eyes, although absoultly stunning, dead.

Louis eyed him up and down. Harry on the other hand seemed to stand there like a statue. His hands hidden in sweater paws and his posture, awkward.

"Take a seat." Louis offered. Harry slowly walked to the love seat and sat down. "Okay.." Louis stretched out so he could get a chance to look at his folder again, he needed a name. "Harry?" He said in a questioning tone making sure it was actually his name. He closed the file quickly after, the small words haunting him already.

Harry didn't seem to answer so he figured he'd continue, "I am Dr. Tomlinson. But you can call me Louis." Louis tried to give a warm smile, though it lasted a little longer than planned seeing as Harry didn't give any kind of response. He frowned.

Louis grabbed the file and read over it yet again, this time to read past therapists comments. 'fucking shit doesn't talk' that's awful to say about a patient, louis thought.

He  sighed and put the file in his left drawer. He looked him straight in the eye -well at least tried to, the curly haired lad was starring at the floor.

"Harry?" He looked up slowly. "Would you like to explain why you're here?" He just stared at louis with no emotion in his eyes. Louis sighed , he knew it was going to be a tough first patient.

"Okay. Says in your folder, you haven't talked to any of your therapists." He shrugged. Finally he was getting some sort of reaction from him. "Okay.." louis trailed off trying to remember his name. He was really bad at remembering them. Louis looked up at the ceiling as if it were going to give him an answer.

"Harry." He said a bit annoyed, his voice hoarse and deep, he couldn't believe he had actually talked. "You knew my name a few minutes ago what happened? Getting too old." He snapped. Well that was rude. Louis glared at him.

"I'm 26, I am not that old." He stated matter of factly. "My mind just went blank for a few seconds."

"Well then.. Shows how good of a therapist you are, Louis is your mind going to go like that every time I talk to you?" he said extending Louis' name as a way to mock him. This little shit is getting on my nerves. Louis hissed inside his head. I missed when he was quite. Louis thought again and he had to mentally slapped himself for that one, he had found himself thinking the same as the other therapists and it wasn't something he wanted to do.

"You know what? I change my mind. Call me Dr. Tomlinson, and I don't know it just might." Louis spat back irritated despite his previous remorseful thoughts.

"I thought-"

"Look Im here to help you, but I can pack my things up and leave and you can find another therapist." He didn't say a word, but he stared at the ground like it was the most interesting thing in the world. Then Louis remembered what his assistant had said, Louis don't be like the others. "Look, Harry I'm sorry." He still didn't look up.

Louis was standing up from his place and walking over to Harry to sit next to him. He put an arm around his shoulders and instanly felt a warming feeling spread throughout his whole body. He had to admit he liked the feeling it gave him, but it wasnt the time to be feeling like that.

He shook his head to get rid of any unwanted thoughts and looked up at Harry.  Only then realizing he was crying. "I thought you were here to help me, not make me cry." He whispered, his voice cracking at the word me, Louis had never heard so much pain in a sentence. It nearly broke him. "But it's fine." He pushed Louis away and stood up. He felt the warm feeling leave and felt completely empty. "Everybody gives up on me, I'm used to it." Louis watches as he heads straight to the door but he's was quick to follow after him, almost stumbling.

"But I'm not everybody Harry. And see that's the thing Harry you're not supposed to be used to it. I promise, I';m not gonna give up on you, i might get mad but i wont give up on you. Now, sit your ass down and lets get started."
