The Irish ended up winning, even though Viktor Krum ended up getting the snitch for Bulgaria. Fred and George were ecstatic that they'd won the bet with Ludo Bagman. Now the Weasleys and Valerie were hanging out in the tent.
"He's more than an athlete!" Ron squawked at the twins who were making fun of his obsession over Viktor Krum. "He's an artist!" His sibling laughed at his behavior.
"I think you're in love Ron." Ginny said jokingly in a dreamy voice. She patted his shoulder.

The twins started circling around Ron, singing about his love. "Viktor I love you!" Fred sang out.
"Viktor I do!" George continued.
Then the whole family started joining in on the fun, even Valerie. "When we're apart my heart beats only for you!" Harry laughed and smiled at his friend Ron, who looked utterly embarrassed by his brothers.

Then screams and shouts were heard from out of the tent, along with crashes and bangs. "Must be the Irish celebrating their win." George mused, breaking away from the circle with his twin.
Arthur suddenly popped into the tent. "No, it's not the Irish. Death Eaters are here." Valerie's face paled and the words sunk in.
"Death eaters?" She stuttered out. Valerie hadn't heard much about the death eaters, or You-Know-Who's supposed return. Beauxbatons wanted to keep the girls away from that stuff. But Valerie did have access to newspapers and she knew that Voldemort was rumored to come back, stronger this time.
"Yes." Arthur said grimly to confirm her thoughts. "Fred, George, Ginny is your responsibility. Run into the woods and get back to the port key!" He shouted, quickly grabbing miscellaneous things and stuffing them into bags.

When the twins, Ginny and Valerie stepped outside, what Valerie saw was worse than anything she'd ever seen in her life. And she's seen many terrible things, including a dead frog in her bed. Fire spit into the air from burning tents. Cloaked figures stampeded down the path and lit fire to any tent they saw. They were pushing down people and questioning them, hurting them even.

"Val, come on!" Fred tugged at her arm, pulling her away from the sight. She turned around and ran as fast as she could to keep up with George and Ginny. She assumed that Harry, Ron and Hermione were right behind them, but she couldn't turn around to check. She couldn't risk it.
The four of them ran into the woods and went as deep as they could. Soon enough, George started slowing down and Fred nearly bumped into his brother. "Let's stop here and wait for dad." George suggested breathlessly. He and Ginny plopped down in the dirt flooring, catching their breaths.

Valerie placed her hands on her hips and bent over, letting the air return to her lungs. "What about Harry and Ron and Hermione?" She asked once she could speak again.
George looked worried. "We must've gotten separated. But they'll come back. They know where to go." She took one last glance back toward the way they came before sitting down beside Fred.

"It's a shame that a great night got ruined." He muttered, poking a stick into the dirt. "We were having so much fun." He looked depressed and sad.
"I know." Valerie said while placing her arms on her knees. "I'm worried about them. Harry, Ron, Hermione, even Cedric and his dad." She glanced down at the dirt. "I hope they got out alright."

Fred nudged her shoulder, a simple sign of affection as a budding friendship grew larger and larger. "Hey, don't worry about it. They'll be fine. Cedric is clever, even if he's a foul Quidditch player." Fred remarked.
"He's not that bad. How would you know?" Valerie rolled her eyes at him with a smile.
"We play against Hufflepull all the time. He's the seeker, and a nasty one at that." Fred said in all seriousness. Valerie laughed shortly and played with her fingers.

"I can't wait to start at Hogwarts. From what I've heard, it's better than Beauxbatons by a long shot." She said after her laughter had died out.
"You'll have a blast, no matter what house you end up in." He said to her with his signature grin. "But it better be Gryffindor. Or else you'll be disowned." He said while sniffing.
Valerie laughed and shook her head. "You can't disown me! You all love me too much." She said with confidence.

"Ah, true. But we only met you today and you haven't even met mum yet." He reminded her and she looked at him with a peculiar look in her eyes.
"I'm not too worried about that. It's more school that I'm worried about." She spoke softly and looked back at the dirt. Fred pulled at a strand of grass.

"I'm telling you, you've got nothing to worry about." He reassured her. "Hey, are you any good at Quidditch?" He asked, changing the injection so she wouldn't get too worried.

Valerie shrugged. "Dunno. Never tried it."
"Never tried it?" Fred exclaimed. "Do you at least know how the game works?" He asked in astonishment.
"Yeah, of course. I just haven't ever flow before." Valerie blushed a bit. She had been shielded from the outside world at Beauxbatons.

"Well, once we get to Hogwarts, we'll find some free time and George and I will personally take it upon ourselves to teach you." Fred claimed in a noble voice. "We are the beaters for the Gryffindor team." He mentioned to her. Valerie nodded and picked at her hand.

Suddenly, a crack filled the air and Arthur arrived with Harry, Ron and Hermione. Seconds later, Cedric and Amos appeared from thin air. Valerie let out a sigh of relief as she spring forward and wrapped both arms around Cedric's neck. "Thank god you're alright." She whispered breathlessly in his ear. He chuckled and hugged back.

She let go of her friend and turned to the others. "So what happened? Did you get separated?" She crossed her arms and leaned back on the air.
Harry nodded. "Got knocked around a bit. But there was this man who cast a dark mark into the sky. It was peculiar." Harry said as if he was in deep thought.
"I reckon it'll be in the paper by morning." Ron piped in with a grim look on his face.

"We should get home. It's late and the kids have school things to get ready." Arthur reassured the four of them. Valerie rubbed her arms to keep warm as the group traveled a short distance back to the port key.

They repeated the same actions had as before. When Valerie landed, it was a lot softer landing than she expected. Fred groaned from under her. "Glad I could cushion your fall." He said in a squeaky voice. Valerie giggled and helped him up.
"Sorry bout that. It's not my fault." She said in a perky tone, not really sorry. Fred just grinned and threw an arm around her shoulders.

"Come on Valerie!" Amos beckoned her to he and Cedric. They already had their arms linked. "This is where we part ways."
Before placing her hand on theirs, she turned back to the Weasleys with the exception of Harry and Hermione. "It was great meeting you all!" She called while waving to them. "Hopefully I'll see you tomorrow!" And then they apparated away.

"Come on Fred!" The twin heard his little sister say to him. "Why d'you look so funny?" Ginny asked him while tilting her head.
Fred walked faster to keep up. He shook his head at her. "Nothing. I'm fine. Let's go home." He put a friendly hand on her back and they walked back to the port key safely.

A/N: whale whale there you go. Some fluff for ya. Okay byeeeee🖖
