Hudson
I'm entranced watching her walk out of the room. I've attended my fair share of runway shows and model exhibits, but the red soles of Maelee's heels lead to, potentially, the most perfect legs I've had the pleasure of gawking at. I'd give my career to run my hand up and down their expanse. I'd give my life to have them wrapped around me while she moans my name.
It was a bitch move to taunt me the way she did. Lifting her leg to show off her "shoes." She knows what she did. I had to adjust myself to keep the proof of my physical attraction from popping through my shorts. Boner aside, she is god damned beautiful. I can't even think of the proper words to describe it. Wearing a skirt below her knees, a fully buttoned blouse, and a white coat hiding her curves, she is no more or less hot than she was in jeans and scrubs yesterday. Most girls show off their assets for the mere benefit of doing it. But Maelee doesn't. She isn't tried or pressured or put-on: she's natural, she's just her. Just Maelee.
She responded to me more than once while she was in here. She blushed, rolled her eyes, flipped her hair. It was magical. It's not a coincidence Jessica suddenly had to go to work as soon as Maelee left. I'm having an effect on her friend and she doesn't want to engage in the conversation I'm dying to have. The second Maelee's foot stepped out the door, Jessica jumped at the opportunity to show Cal the cafeteria on her way "out."
"Bro, what the hell is your problem?" Noah asks, slapping me with the back of his hand. "Why are you acting all pissy?"
"What are you talking about?" I ask him. "I'm not being pissy."
"You need to wake the fuck up! She just asked you if you had a girlfriend and you ignored her, you idiot!"
"What? When did that happen?" I look at Noah then at Jack. She didn't ask me if I had a girlfriend.
"Please offer her my apologies," Noah says in his best "Maelee" accent. It's not exactly valley, but not really American either. I'm not sure what her drawl is but it's perfect. "She was waiting for you to tell her you didn't have one, you dick!"
Maelee had said something about the press; I was pissed they made yet another accusation about me. Even more pissed that they involved her. But that's all she said. She didn't ask if I had a girlfriend.
Did she?
As cool as it would be for her to worry about my relationship status I don't want her to think I'm actually in one. I told her I didn't have a girlfriend last night. I know I did.
"If you don't get your head out of your ass you can take your dibs and suck it," Noah says.
Anger.
"Dibs are dibs you ass wipe!" I yell. There is no way I'm letting a little Irish leprechaun take her from me! Wait a second... "What the fuck, dude. We don't even do dibs." I've never said 'dibs' on someone, ever. Neither has Noah.
What the hell is wrong with me? She's a doctor for Christ's sake. A geeky, over confident, stuck up, know it all doctor. Why would I want someone like her anyway? I want someone who will drop to her knees the second I tell her to. I don't have time for begging and pleading.
No. That's not right at all. Twenty-four hours ago, maybe. But not now. Honestly, I didn't know girls like Maelee existed. Now that I do, that's what I want.
"YOU did dibs," Noah reminds me.
I'm not proud of it, but he's right. When we met Maelee on the patio, I felt like I had to. She spoke to Noah a lot more than she did me and the only thing I could think about was seeing her naked. I wasn't going to let him get in the way of that. He needed to know she was mine.
