Chapter 12. Le Guide Officieux de Hacking Éthique
I was walking around the house while the guys took a break, I realized there was something suspicious going on; that morning they all looked tense, and none of them dared to talk, I was a bit worried, but I tried to remain calm, after all, I still had to recover. Later as I walked near Parky's bedroom I heard their voices.
"How this could've happened?" I heard Parker whisper/yelled.
"We..." Sighed Colton. "We don't know, yet."
"We can't control the rumors going around, and our stocks... they're about to fall, it's only a matter of days till the company breaks down; a week and a half at the most, two, with a miracle."
"Parker... it's not only rumors, it's the truth..." Said Jay with a tone I had never heard in him before.
"I know! I don't need you to remind me of that! What I want to know is how the hell we were hacked!" Said Parker, clearly irritated.
So, Black Bride Gaming got hacked... (again) they were in deep shit, serious deep shit.
"You three!" I suddenly pushed the door and was in before I could even analyze my actions. "I'm gonna help you!" I said.
I saw the three of them, their faces looked like kids eating the cookie dough without their mum's permission; then they proceeded to look at me like I had lost my mind, Parker stared down at me, assassin mode.
"What?" Asked Jay.
"I'll ask Venom for help, Venom will find out who did it."
"Why should we trust Venom? As far as we know, Venom could've done all of this, like before." Said Parker getting quite angry at me, but slowly.
"One thing is to leak a video game, and a very different one to hack an entire company, and one with such security system, specially since you improved your system, after Venom."
"I think we should let Venom help us." Said Colton almost in a whisper.
"Why!" Yelled Parker with flames coming out of his eyes.
"Because we trust Rosalind, and whoever Rosalind trusts." Said Jay calmly, Parker sighed.
"Venom will find out, I promise."
I left the room and went to mine, I opened my recently bought lap top, I had missed using it for real, basically I had ditched it since the last time I used it, in part because I had been busy, mainly because the temptation to cause trouble was too big; hacking could get really addictive, it was hard to stop once you realized you were unstoppable.
"How are you gonna communicate with her?" Asked Parker, who was leaning his weight on the door of my room, looking pissed off, but also calm.
"That's my problem."
"I thought you wanted nothing to do with her."
"Yeah, but I will help you, even if that means reconnecting with her."
"Why would you help me?"
