'Avil and I? A Prince and a Princess?' I asked, closing my hanging jaw.

'I'm sorry, what now? Did I hear you right?' Avil asked.

'Yes, yes. You heard right. You both are a Prince and Princess', Victor said, looking bored.

'You must most definitely be confused', I said. 'Or you're going absolutely nuts. Him and I are the most least likely to be a Prince and Princess. For God's sake we aren't sophisticated. We keep getting into trouble and we curse like sailors.'

'I can't believe I'm saying this, but, Anaya's right', Avil said. 'We are not even meant to be Royalty. We behave as if we're from the streets. No offence.' Avil looked at the others present in the room. They looked pretty offended, if I might say.

'Do you want some proof?' Victor asked, ignoring Avil's look and giving others in the room no time to retort

'Duh', Avil and I replied together.

'Fine', Victor said and turned towards me. 'Anaya, you must know karate right?'

I nodded. 'Judo too.'

'Avil, you must know how to handle responsibilities right?' Victor asked Avil.

'Well, my mom once talked to me about it but I zoned out the entire time', Avil answered.

'Yeah, Anaya, you know karate for self-defense as a Princess gets kidnapped easily. Avil your mom talked to you about that because you need to know how to handle responsibilities as a King', Victor explained.

'What rubbish!', I shouted. 'You're giving common reasons. Most girls know karate for self- defense and responsibilities is an essential part of a person's life. I'm sure Avil knows karate and I got some responsibilities to do as well. You belong in Nimhans.'

'Oh yeah! I'll tell you the story then', Victor said.

'By all means, please do so', Avil said.

'Both of your parents are best friends. They combined their kingdoms and ruled over them together. Their right-hand men, you know, like a Beta to an Alpha are your best friends' parents', Victor started when I interrupted him.

'Shut up!', I shouted. 'Isla and Bryce's parents?! Today's full of surprises, isn't it?'

'Yes. Please don't interrupt me again. I hate being interrupted', Victor said.

'Like I care', I retorted. and at the same time, Avil scoffed, 'Like she cares.'

I glared at him. 'I can speak for myself', I said, gritting my teeth.

Avil held his hand up in surrender. 'Ok.'

'Good', I said, narrowing my eyes at him.

'Like I was saying, before I was rudely interrupted by certain two people', Victor glared at us while we just shrugged, 'they ruled peacefully. People were able to go to them for any of their problems. The people of the kingdom were given first preference. Now, all was well until their first children were born, who are you guys and your best friends. They began receiving death threats and so, they decided to stay low for a few years which turned to decades, since, the threats still haven't stopped, you know', Victor said.
