Chapter Two:
Falling For You
"I'm so sorry.." Harry gushed in his low, attractive voice. He seemed at a loss for words. I gazed at Harry, his clothes soaked, and his dark curls were stuck to his head from the orange juice. Before I could respond, Gemma came into view.
"OH MY GOD! Emma, you've met your match! Harry's just as clumsy as you!" she shouted while laughing hysterically. I blushed. Met my match? We're a match? And really we didn't just meet, I've known him since I started working here. Every couple days he comes in for breakfast. Gem usually waits on him, but when she's too lazy sometimes I wait on him. I've had my eye on him for months...
"She's right. I'm rather clumsy." he states. Everything about him captivates me. His lips, his eyes, his hair, his voice, his body... everything.
"I'm Harry." he explains as I look into his big green eyes. I must look like some kind of fool right now, soaked and not saying a word, but I can't really help it, he's left me bashful.
"And you're Emma." he playfully adds.
"How do you know my name?!" I asked in confusion. Then he reached and lightly brushed the name tag pinned to my breast with one of his long fingers... Cheeky boy.
"It says your name right here, love. Excuse my reach by the way." Harry winked, and I blushed an even deeper red. I opened my mouth to speak when Gemma did it for me, snapping me out of my trance.
"Guys, you've got the whole diner staring! Now, go and get yourselves cleaned up!"
Harry took me by the hand and started to walk me back into the employee bathroom. His touch made me shiver. We entered the bathroom and stood side by side at the mirror. I began to take some paper towels and dap the moisture out of my clothes. He started to make his way over to the hand dryer. I wondered what he was up to.
"This is how it's done." he smirked and kneeled down so his hair was directly under the hand dryer. He pressed the button and the machine started up and his curls began to dry. I caught on to what he was doing and scooted over to the other hand dryer right next to the one he was using and began to dry my clothes off.
The dryers worked faster then towels ever could, and then after Harry and I were pleased with ourselves, we both returned back to the seating area of the diner.
"You're dry! That was only the most embarrassing thing ever. I got that family replacement drinks by the way. You're welcome." Gemma explained. I thanked her and took a seat behind the counter.
I can't tell Gemma I have a little bit of a thing for Harry. If I tell her I find her brother attractive, I will never hear the end of it. Seconds later, Harry walks up to me at my spot behind the counter and my heart stops.
"Table for one please?" he asks in a very proper voice. I giggle, push aside my shyness, and decide to play along.
"Right this way, sir. Follow me, please." I present using my best fancy tone. I make my way out from behind the counter and lead him to a small, solitary table. As I walk, I can feel his eyes trail to my arse...
"Can we make that a table for two?" he questions. My heart sinks a bit.
"Who's joining you?" I remarked, trying to cover any signs of disappointment I had.
"You, if you want." he explains with a grin. I blush immensely and agree quietly.
I pull up a chair and sit across from him at the teeny table.
"GEMMA!" Harry yells. Before long, his sister comes towards us.
"Will you wait on us?" he asks and Gem nods her head no.
"I'm too tired.. Let me get Perrie. And hey! Emma! You're not supposed to be slacking off, missie!" she said that last part pretty sassy and playfully.
"Shh. I'm on my break. Now go get Perrie before my break is over and I need to cut this date short."
