Chapter Twenty-Seven:

Immobile

As the night went on, the drinks loosened my body and mind up even more. I wasn't even me anymore, I was a shell under the strong influence of alcohol.

Gemma wasn't around at this point anymore. I think she might have had someone drive her home and take her away from this. The sense that was still in me told me that was the best move, but was I really thinking about what is best? Not a chance.

This was in fact a college party. Even in the early hours of the morning, people filled the house to the brim. All night I danced among these perfect strangers and I liked it. The entire time I couldn't help but think it was the start of rejoining my old self, but I pushed that statement to the back of my head. Surely one night of wrongdoing can't revert me forever. It was only one party...

The funny thing is I haven't seen Harry all night. I wasn't sure where he went exactly, but I haven't seen him around. That saddened me, but I occupied myself with others. There was this fun boy named Calum and this crazy-natured guy called Ed I began to get to know. With them and some others they introduced me to, who really needed Harry?

Hours kept dwindling by and the party showed no signs of an end. I was dancing around with Calum when he abruptly sprinted off to the bathroom. He most likely had to purge... Again. That was maybe the third or fourth time that he ran to barf in that night. After he left, I stood alone in the crowded area, bopping my head to whatever song was playing now.

"Emma!" A raspier sounding voice called to me. I turned around to see my new friend, Ed, positioned at the table with a large glass of something in his hand.

I pushed through the people and made my way over to the ginger-haired guy.

"Yeah?" I asked and he motioned for me to sit down next to him.

He poured me a glass of whatever it is he was gulping and slid it over to me. I obliged and began to sip down the glass of the burning substance.

"Who are you here with?" Ed questioned and I shrugged before looking to the floor.

"My 'boyfriend', Harry. Do you know him?" I responded sarcastically.

"Yeah! He's a good guy. Where is he?" Ed said and finished his glass, prior to filling it up again.

"Not sure. He sorta left me alone." I explained and Ed shrugged.

"He'll be back." Ed then chugged down the rest of his glass and filled it up yet again. Wow, he really knew how to hold his liquor. I finished my own glass quickly, barely letting the liquid set in my body before abruptly standing up.

"I'll see you, Ed. I'm going to see if Calum is alright." Ed nodded and said that he'd find me later, then returned to filling his body with alcohol.

..

Maneuvering through the people isn't the easiest thing to do, but I did it and made my way to where I knew the bathroom was located. The door was opened a crack, and inside I saw Calum hunched over a toilet, clutching his side for support. I opened the door fully and rushed inside.

"Cal? You okay?" I asked, my voice not revealing itself to be as strong as I wanted it to be. Calum looked like he was in a lot of pain from this drinking fiasco. The terrible thing is, he drank about half of what I did. When it hits me, it'll be twice as worse as what my new friend is going through. Great.

"I'm okay..." Cal groaned. I shook my head profusely as some of the upchuck from his mouth made its way to the tile floor.

"Oh no..." I exclaimed. I grabbed a couple of paper towels and dampened them with water to clean up the mess. Just as I bent over to clean it up, a shooting pain entered my head, nearly knocking me over.
