Why Not?

Chapter 2

Once I got to my locker I heard a familiar voice come up from behind me and of course I knew who it was, Sofia.

"Luna! Luna! Is that you! I haven't seen you in like forever!"

"Really Sofia, it's only been two days since we have seen each other and that's forever to you?!"

"Yes! You know that Luna, gosh don't be so dumb."

"Whatever. So what have you been up to these last two days."

"Well I went to this party thing, but it was so lame without you their Luna."

"Don't start their, you know I don't like parties."

"I know you don't Luna, but for once can you please try to have some fun in your life."

"I do have fun, but not in the ways you have fun."

"Your fun is staying at home watching a movie or reading a book, that's not my definition of fun Luna."

"Well that's my fun Sofia, I try not to judge what you do, so don't judge me."

"Fine. So are you ready for class and everything going back to normal with school and everything."

"Well I guess, I'm just focusing on passing and getting next year done, then finally college."

"Yes next year, we're going to be seniors, your so going to find out way more about my type of fun, okay?"

"I don't know about that. But I'll try."

"Good, but we better hurry so we're not late to our first class."

We start making our way to our first class, biology. While we were walking I was noticing the same guy I see everyday, let me see I think I know his name, oh yeh, Javier. He's in my second class and my last class, but we never talk, but it seems like I have known him for a while, but any who.

It was already time to get to my last class of the day, it was already that time of the day to almost leave, I was surprised that this day went by pretty fast for me. My last class was reading, so it's going to be very boring in that class, especially with my teacher Mr. Smith talking all the time.

Once I walked into the class I walked straight to my desk, not even noticing if anyone was looking at me, but honestly why would I care.

Then finally Mr. Smith came in right when the bell rings. He's seems the same like every other day, but today something is different, he says he has some news, so let's just hope its something good.

"Okay class I have some news you might really like. So I'm going to try something new. Something better than just listening to me talking all day. I have decided for your guys to do a book report."

Ughh!!! That's what came from the whole class, even me.

"Don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to finish it, you'll have about a month to a month and a half, to read it and do your report about it. Also to top it off, to make it even better, you'll have partners."

Well that makes it a little better, but not that much. So of course we know who one of the first partners will be. Me and Sofia, like doubt when we looked over at each other at the same time.

"But I will be choosing them for you guys."

Really. Well that just messed things up even more, now I really hate this teacher.

So of course I was one of the last ones to be given a partner.

"Okay. Oh and you miss Luna, will be with umm let me see. Ah yes you and mister Javier will be partners. Okay class get to work starting everything, if you need anything I will be at my desk."

What?! I get paired with someone I don't know, that I only see in the halls or that is in my class. Like I don't even know how we supposed to be partners and know each other for almost two months.

So I decided to walk to his desk and sit beside him because it didn't look like he was going to move. I was so nervous, but I'm just going to have to suck it up.

"Hi, I'm Luna"

"Oh hey Luna, how are you, my name is Javier."

"Well hi Javier it's nice to meet you, I'm doing fine. Are your ready to get this project started with."

"Yes. I'm not really a project kind of person, it's just to much to worry about and takes up a lot of time."

"Your so right that's how I feel about it too."

"Really I thought I was the only one."

"Apparently not haha."

I don't know what I was thinking, but Javier is actually a pretty cool, laid back person. Actually a lot like me really. Huh, never thought I would ever meet someone else in my life like me, now that makes me happy.

"So what days would you like to work on this project Ms. Luna."

"Haha Luna will be fine, not Miss. And I'm free whenever, I really don't have a busy schedule Mister Javier."

"Well Ms. Luna I don't either, so we might have this project done sooner than we think, so that will be good"

"Your right Mister Javier, the sooner the better."

"So where do you wanna meet at to start this project."

"Well we can meet at my house tomorrow after school, my parents are never home because of work, so they wouldn't mind."

"Okay that sound great Ms. Luna."

"Great until then."

I walked off because the bell was about to ring. I don't know but their was something about this guy that made me feel a little happy inside. That made me feel butterflies, I don't know why though. He is cute, but we just met so I'm not catching feelings this fast.

Javier's P.O.V.

Luna walked off and their was something about her that I just didn't want to see her go, like I don't know why, we just met. She's beautiful, but it's impossible for her to feel anything for me. I just wasn't the guy for her, even if I wanted to be, I know she needed someone more than me.

Their just something though, that I can't wait till tomorrow to see her, she makes me feel a way of more happiness inside of me that I don't feel very often.

Why is my head saying things and why is my heart doing weird things that I have never felt before. Is this natural for me. Is this even me I'm talking about?
