He stared at them, hard.
He couldn't believe what he was seeing, slowly, he pulled away. She looked up at him, puzzled and concerned.
"Chat?" she cocked her head, concern still brimming in her iridescent blue eyes.
"It was you... You're..." her eyes widened, her heart beginning to race.
"I'm what Chat? What?"
"...Ladybug..." her heart thudded against her chest, it felt as if it were going to burst out of her chest.
His eyes widened and his pupils thinned, he was surprised by his emotions. He wasn't angry with her, more so relieved that the love of his life was a genuinely good person.
Though now he doubted himself, did he really deserve such a kind girl?
He was drawn back into reality by Marinette."I'm such an idiot, I should've thought this through. I knew you were clever but I never thought..." she sighed burying her face in the palms of her hands.
"Hey, you aren't an idiot," he grinned, "you're a great girl, you're intelligent, funny, caring, brave. You're... Everything I'm not..." he sighed, attempting not to cough, his ears drooped.
"No I'm not, I've violated my Kwami's only wish, not to reveal my identity to anyone! You know who I am, Chat!" she cried.
He stared back at her, "I-if it makes you feel any better, you know who I am."
"No I don-" she gasped as Plagg reverted him to his old self. Her hand was covering her soft lips. Tears streaked down her face.
"Mari, I-" she wrapped her arms around him, crying though laughing at the same time as she choked out, "I'm so glad it's you..."
He rested his chin on her soft raven colored hair, "Me too," he sighed, "me too."
