"What? No!" I shouted at nothing while I saw the same doorframe that moved away each time I walked towards it.
"No! No! No! It isn't fair!" I started running faster towards it, tears slowly leaking from my eyes. I want Sean.
I remember what allowed me through last time. I sat down and looked at my feet, knowing that the door was there but I wanted to take some unaccounted time to myself and think.
Where even am I? Who am I happy with? When do I trigger going into the opposite reality?
I'm clearly in some vast, white zone that interlocks the two dimensions. But I want Sean... He makes me comfortable and feels safe just by being around him. I think I should give Gage one more chance to prove himself to me... before I try to find how to break this. He is my best friend, but I don't see him of much as a lover. Jack on the other hand... oh my...
I sighed and looked up, sure enough, the doorframe and handle appeared before me. I grabbed the door handle and braced for what was on the other side of the door.
I stepped into a hallway.
The hallway of Gage's home.I looked behind me as I held the same doorknob and saw Gage's bathroom. I turned forward and walked left toward the living room where Gage was playing a game on the tv with his friend. I forget his name. It's like Patrick or something.
It's so weird... I feel like I haven't seen Gage in days yet for him it was probably just a few minutes.
I walked over to him and tried to snake my arms around his neck and get his attention without disrupting his game. He jumped, and continued to yelled into his headset, ignoring me. I kissed the top of his head and he growled, as he said "YOU'RE GONNA DIE PAT. GRAB THE INSTA-KILL!"
"Gage?" I asked in a low and gentle voice.
"UGH!" He threw the controller across the room and it shattered to pieces. He stomped up from the couch and looked at me with a reddened face.
"WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?! YOU MADE ME DIE (Y/N)!" He shouted in my face.
"Gage it's only a video game! I just wanted to talk!" I tried reasoning with him.
"WELL YOUR SHITTY LITTLE SMALL TALK MADE ME LOSE RIGHT BEFORE THE FINAL ROUND!"
"Gage! I just-" I fell to the ground hard.
I looked back at him and he starred at me in shock. He just hit me.
My eyes swelled with tears. Not from the searing pain in the right side of my face, but from his actions. I grew enraged and stormed next door to my house. I need Sean. Now.
I looked up The YouTube Game online and they have it for Xbox One, the system I have at GameStop. Gage has it on his PS4, but I will not step back into that house. There is a GameStop by my house. Good.
I heard banging on my front door.
"(Y/n)! I'm so sorry! I don't know what came over me! Please, please, please come out!" He tried to plead with me.
"No! Leave my property! I never want to see you again!"
"Please!"
I've had enough."Fuck you!" I retorted to my long term best-.... Ex... ex best friend.
Silence.
"I'm staying out here until you can find it in your heart to forgive me."
Funny.
That last shred of possible love and hope I had for him that I held in my heart was slapped out of me.I snuck out the back door and hopped my fence.
I need to buy that game and find Jack.
