Two weeks passed since the food incident at the hospital. Kaneki didn't know. Yet. Hide was already back at school. He noticed how little friends he actually with Kaneki's absence. He texted him every day, encouraging him to come back to school.
HIDE Tues 6:14 A.M-'Good morning Kaneki. Please come back to school today :)'
HIDE Tues 7:45 A.M-'Really Kaneki. Again you're skipping class...'
HIDE Tues 8:02 A.M -'Please just be late, I'm not going to be alone for Lit. again.'
HIDE Tues 9:34 A.M-'Come oooooooooon duuuuude. I'm booooooooored without you!!'
HIDE Tues 12:01 P.M-'Wanna do something while I'm out for lunch??? Please say yes!!'
HIDE Tues 12:02 P.M-'?????'
HIDE Tues 12:05 P.M-'U better not be fucking sleeping still...'
HIDE Tues 12:10 P.M-'Lazy ass Kaneki....'
HIDE Tues 12:16 P.M-'Kaneki...'
HIDE Tues 12:16 P.M-'I have something important to tell you...'
KANEKI Tues 12:18 P.M-'What is it Hide?'
HIDE Tues 12:18 P.M-'KANEKI!!!!!'
KANEKI Tues 12:19 P.M-'What did you want to tell me?'
HIDE Tues 12:19 P.M-'That ur a lazy ass.'
KANEKI Tues 12:20 P.M-'You're*'
HIDE Tues 12:20 P.M-'Whatever. So are we hanging out for lunch?'
HIDE Tues 12:25 P.M-'??????'
HIDE Tues 12:28 P.M-'Kaaaaaaneki, I know you're there!!!!'
HIDE Tues 12:29 P.M-'Rabbit's die of loneliness, you know 'Neki!'
HIDE Tues 12:40 P.M-'Okay I know you need your space but I'm really worried about you Kaneki. If you need my notes from any class I can come over and drop them off if you want.'
KANEKI Tues 12:52 P.M-'Yeah, can you bring over your notes before you get back to class.'
HIDE Tues 12:53 P.M-'Sure thing buddy :D'
Deciding to take the rest of the day off, Hide skips his last class of the day. He walks the short distance to Kaneki's apartment. Banging. That's all he hears coming from inside. Not even bothering to knock, Hide nearly busts the door off its hinges with the new found strength he has. He comes to find his best friend. Banging his head on the door of his refrigerator. No blood. Food of various sorts is strewn about the small kitchen. Bang after bang and Hide is frozen. His heart is racing, thoughts of what to do buzzing by. He settles on one. The blonde leaps into action, pulling his friend away from the fridge by the waist. The two topple backwards. Kaneki struggles to get from his friend's grip.
"LET ME GO! I WANT TO DIE! LET ME GO!" the brunette screams over and over.
"KANEKI!" Hide shouts over Kaneki's screams. Silence. Kaneki's screams cease at the sound of Hide's voice. The blonde heaves the two upright, not daring to let go of Kaneki.
"Hey, hey, 'Neki. You're okay. I'm here. You're fine." Hide comforts. Struggling, Kaneki, turns his body towards Hide's. He throws his arms over Hide's shoulders and sobs. Burying his head in Hide's shoulder.
"It's okay." Hide whispers, rubbing small circles into Kaneki's back "You're okay."
