It had been two weeks since Lily and Steve came to their agreement of not pushing the physical aspect of their relationship. Their kisses sometimes got a little frisky but they pulled back before it went too far. They slept in the same bed, got ready in the same bathroom, and ate breakfast together. Steve could tell that it made Lily sad that they were not progressing further physically in their relationship, but she had told him that she wanted this relationship to last. If that meant that she had to wait a little bit longer before they consummated their relationship, Lily was okay with that.
They were snuggled together on the couch watching the news. Lily was asleep, with her head in his lap. Steve was running his fingers through her long thick brown hair. A 'Special News Alert' filtered its way across the screen and caught Steve's eye. He listened closely.
"A shooting in downtown Boston is happening now. We go to Special News Anchor Kimberly Seiko who is live at the scene."
The scene changed in the TV and Steve sat up, dislodging Lily from his lap. The journalist, a small Asian lady, started reporting. "I'm live at Main and Fifth, where just a few minutes ago several gunshots were reported. Here we see," the camera panned to the glass doors of the Hilton Hotel, "where the glass was shattered by the bullets. Now, we've been told that a dignitary from both Arabia and Pakistan were staying here for the upcoming World Summit. They're has been no word on if they were the target or if this was just a random shooting." The shattered glass doors opened and a man stepped out. He was tall and had blonde hair. His chest was covered in what looked like blood. His eyes focused on the reporter and started walking to her. She had stopped speaking and was watching him. He backhanded her as he stepped up to her. She fell to the ground with a cry.
He looked into the camera and said in an oddly familiar accent, "Hydra takes the accomplishment of the assassination of the two delegates. It would not have been possible without the People of the Shadows and the assistance of the Winter Soldier. Now, I speak directly to the Avengers. Hold on to what is in the light, because the People of the Shadows can take it at any time. Now starts the time when people should be afraid of the dark." He nodded to the camera and started walking away.
Lily had been woken by Steve shifting her off of his lap. She watched as he ran into the bedroom and came back out a minute later as Captain America. He grabbed his motorcycle keys and with one last glance at the TV and Lily, was out the door. She heard the motorcycle rev up and peel out.
She turned her attention to the TV as Iron Man and Falcon swooped in to apprehend the man. She watched the man spot Falcon and side step his attack. What he didn't see was the side attack from Iron Man. Tony hit the man and threw him down, then stepped back. "Who are you?" Lily heard Iron Man ask through the camera that was still live broadcasting the fight. "I am not important. The plan-
''Hello Not Important, I'm Iron Man and this is Falcon.''
The man growled then said ''The plan will continue with or without me. Nothing you can do to me will make me reveal any information." He stood straight and looked at Iron Man. "Do your worst."
"Sam, was that permission?" Tony quipped. Sam nodded and the two attacked again. Punches were traded and soon the sound of Steve's motorcycle could be heard approaching on tv. The fighting continued for several minutes and then suddenly Captain America had joined the fight. Lily sat on the couch holding her phone in nervousness. Punch after punch- kick after kick- the fight in its entirity was caught on film by the camera man. Mr. Not Important was going toe to toe with three Avengers and not losing any ground. He had a small red disc that he used to deflect Cap's punches and Iron Man's blasts. But soon being outnumbered took its toll and Falcon got a good swift kick in via his back. He went down on one knee blonde hair obscuring his face. Fighting stalled for those few seconds. He looked up an evil smirk on his face. A glint of silver reflected the sun and a gunshot rang out.
