Insanity

Dessel dug his pickaxe into the ground. He was much stronger now. He was 23 years old. Mining was a normal thing now. He knew what he was doing. The guards watched upon him with their droids behind them. The  Muun guard glared at him with vicious eyes. Dessel was not scared to glare back. He had gotten used to this.

The siren cried out again and Dessel ran out of his area. He got in line with the rest of the miners. Just another normal day. Suddenly, he heard a familiar scream. The guards had pulled someone out of line. This rarely happened. Dessel only saw this once, and this means someone committed a terrible crime. The miners crowded around the victim and the guard pulled out his sword. Dessel tried to get around the miners to see who was getting killed. Maybe it was someone he had known.

He pushed and shoved people around with a glare. He saw the top of the miner's head and instantly knew who it was. His mother. The sword was raised high in the air and Dessel screamed at the top of his lungs, "NO!!", but it was too late. His mother had been murdered in front of him. A part of him completely died. She was everything to him, the only person that loved him. He felt he was going to burst into tears, but he got filled with sudden anger and aggression. He ran up to the guard and punched him in the mouth. Dessel stole his sword and cut off his hand. He then stabbed him right in the stomach. The warm sticky sticky blood of the guard covered Dessel's face. The guard looked down at the sword then looked back up at Dessel. He collapsed to the ground. Dead. 

He looked at the miners around him. Fear filled their faces. His sword dripped with blood. Dessel dropped the sword and ran. Many guards filled up speeders and instantly started chasing after Dessel. Dessel ran as fast as he could, but fell to the ground. The guards jumped out of the speeders armed with blasters. "We've got you surrounded!". Dessel closed his eyes and accepted his fate.
