Some people would never understand how truly beautiful never land was.
After a mere day, you felt like it was your home. A bizarre feeling, perhaps one you would never feel again, but it was what you had the honour of feeling.
The world was beautiful, although it was not without its difficulties. Being the only lost girl on the island was a struggle within itself. Felix tried to interact with you, by obvious orders of Pan, but Felix was neither sociable or pleasant and your interactions were a regularly sanctioned waste of time.
Then there was the ever allusive pan himself. You knew he was there... Somewhere.
Days had went by and all you heard was stories. The others spoke highly of their leader but besides that, he was a mystery.
It was rude of him to take you here and not even say hello. That thought regularly occurred to you since your arrival to never land.
Walking by the fire pit you smiled at one of the boys. Of course you didn't get as much as a smile in return. In fact it was as though the boy couldn't even see you.
One person who did see you was felix. He lacked all enthusiasm as he approached you, right on schedule, his feet stomping without any concept of grace as he made his way to stand facing you.
"Hello Felix." You sighed. "Anything interesting to share? Perhaps a personality you've picked up or a sense of humour?" You added the last part nonchalantly. However it seemed that your sharp wit was a waste of time with Felix. You heaved a sigh. "Never mind." It was always a waste with Felix. One day he would stop behaving like a plank of wood, that was the hope anyway. "What about pan?"
"What about him?" Felix retaliated. His response was quick and clearly defensive. That was off. Usually Felix would speak of the other boy as though he was never just a man. Pan was a god.
"I know he told you to speak to me, although it beats me why he can't just man up and do it himself."
"Man up?" A new voice asked. English. Definitely and English accent. "You come to the island of lost boys and demand that someone 'man up'"
"If you're not him, I am going to be dearly disappointed."
"Oh it's me alright." He whispered something to one of the boys. That same boy nudged the one near him, both advancing towards you. You eyed them wearily, but when they split going either side of you, your eyes focused on the one Peter had whispered to. Barely a second had passed before the other grabbed your arm, one hand on your bicep and the other tightly squeezing your wrist. Your head turned to glare at him and your arm lashed out in stuggle only to have the first treat your arm with the same restraint and cruelty.
"This!" Peter declared signalling to you. "Is the reason we don't have lost girls." Everyone was watching you but your struggle did not relent. "I ask you, what shall we do with a non- believer?"
"Throw her in the pit" one yelled.
"Drown her!" Shouted another.
"The tower!"
"Make her grow up!"
"Felix." Pan opening his mouthed hushed them in an instant and for once no one was looking at you. All were looking at Felix. "What do you suggest?" Pan no longer looked at his friend. Instead he stalked towards you, each step sounded loudly in your ears.
As he stood in front of you it dawned on your mind that it was the first time Pan had ever been that close. His brown hair was messy as the wind played with the loose curls. His eyes were fixed to you with a kind of determination you had never seen in such a young soul. Then his smirk was sinister but playful, a sadistic twist to such a handsome boy.
