"Aomine, that's no reason not to practice anymore." I challenge fearlessly. Blue eyes scorching holes into the hind of my body.
"Whatever. The only one who can beat me, is me, anyway." He says once again with his pretentious comments, this guy.
His muscular body walks sluggishly towards the door, "hurry up, I haven't got all day." He demands as I bolt up. Haven't got all day for what?
He walks quickly, almost nearing the exit of the academy grounds."Wait up Aomine! I gotta lock up first!"
I scream beneath the pitch black sky, hearing a huff as Aomine halts.
I sprint my way towards him after pushing the key inside of the chrome hole and turning the piece of brass counter-clockwise. Sighing heavily as I catch my breath."Holy ass, it's cold... Also, Momoi informed me earlier of an upcoming game. She's probably going to talk about the details tomorrow, so make sure you attend practice." I say, slightly demanding.
I was beginning to learn that Aomine's bark was bigger than his bite.
A red and black long-sleeved, button-up jersey suspends in front of my face, almost getting a mouthful of the fabric.
"Huh?" I stop, turning to Aomine's profile view. He decides not to look at me, "are you cold or not? Just take it before I change my mind." His voice displaying a hint of annoyance, I don't object, slipping the jersey over my shoulders.
"Oh, uh, thank you." I say silently, becoming all the more anxious as his scent emits from the jersey into my airways, invading my nostrils with it's masculine odour.
I then came to the realisation that we had passed the bus station moments before, where exactly was he heading so late at night, and why was it on my route?
"Aomine, we passed the bus stop already." I state.
"I know, I'm walking you home, idiot. Can't you see how dark it is?" Did the Aomine Daiki show that he's moderately interested in my safety?
"It's really not far from here now, you should-"
"Be quiet, has anyone told you you're annoying sometimes?" he retorts as he taps the crown of my head, almost playfully.
"Oi!" I howl at him. "You're the company you keep..." I shriek fatuously, tapering the end of my sentence with sarcasm as Aomine grunts at my retort.
Finally we reach the outside of my now permanent home.
"Well, this is me, thanks for walking me home, you really didn't need to." I offer my gratitude as I recognise a red and black fabric draped over me shortly afterward, and aomine must have realised too, as he scans my body clad in his jersey.
"Keep it." He says as he notices my eyes on the garment.
I wasn't expecting him to offer me his jersey, aren't these things expensive? I wanted to be sure that he didn't need it back. "You're sure?" giving him a second chance to re-evaluate offering it to me.
"I'll just request a new one, does it really matter? besides, it'll look good on you when I crush the next team up against me." he prides himself with a smirk.
"Don't flatter yourself, Aomine. As I said to Momoi, you might meet your match this year."
"Impossible." He states as though law, walking off as he waves the hind of a sizeable hand.
"See ya'." he pauses. "[y/n]."
I quiver, shivers running through my body.Am I really falling for this? hopeless doesn't come close to justifying my infatuated emotions anymore.
All he had to do was give me his jersey and say my name? I need some sleep. This is tomorrow's problem.
