I awoke with a major headache. I started to sit up but was gently pushed back down.
"i wouldn't do that if I were you." George muttered.
I squinted up at him through the bright light. "My head hurts." I started.
"Madam Pomfrey said that it would be too risky to use magic on a head wound so you will have to deal with it for a few days. She healed you as much as she dared and it sped up the process." George said stroking my hair in a brotherly way.
"Where's Freddie?" I asked wondering why only one of my brothers was here.
George pointed to the bed next to mine. I tried to sit up again but again George's hand restrained me. I shifted so that I could see. What I saw shocked and confused me beyond belief. Fred was laying there flat on his back. There were faint red marks around his neck and he was breathing deeper than normal. He began to stir and I had the urge to go to him. I got up quickly with George yelling at me not to get up. I was half way there when a dizzy spell hit me and I fell. George caught me in his strong arms and carried me back to my bed.
"You shouldn't have done that!" He exclaimed loudly. I winced at the noise because it hurt my head more. "Sorry." He stated seeing my expression to the loud noise.
"What happened?" I asked scared for the answer.
"Tammer insulted you and Fred and I went on the defense. He punched Tammer and one of his shadows broke Freddie's wrist in two spots and dislocated his shoulder. I went after Tammer for both hurting Freddie and insulting you and Fred payed for it. The bigger of the two shadows choked Fred till he almost blacked out. He took a potion and it put him to sleep as well as take the pain away. Madam Pomfrey says he will be fine but that those marks might bruise a little and that his shoulder will be a bit sore for the next few hours. He should be awake soon. You on the other hand, we were not expecting you to wake up for another few hours. You should go back to sleep." He said stroking my hair. I flinched a bit every time he got close to the back of my head but he was careful not to touch back there.
Madam Pomfrey walked over and examined my head. She looked in my eyes and shined a light in them blinding me for a few minutes. She helped me sit up slowly and she took the bandage on my head off. I winced as she got towards the end. She looked at it for a good while then said "The skin has healed but i can't risk using anything to heal it all at once. You are stuck with a concussion for at least a week, no reading or writing, you will have to stay here a few more days then you can go back to the common room and have the boys read your homework and stuff to you. Lucky for you the holiday weekend in in a few days so just take it easy at home. And ABSOLUTELY NO QUIDDITCH." She said, not loud but just emphasizing the words. I nodded slowly. She handed me a cup telling me to drink it. I did and almost as soon as I had finished it I started to fall asleep again. George helped me lay down again as my eyes became heavy. I heard Fred start to wake up and I tried to fight the potion so that I could see him again but the pots was too strong and I went back to a dreamless sleep.
