Chapter 5

Finally something i had been looking forward to. Potions had been horrible and  Snape hated me and the twins. In Transfiguration we had loads of homework and in charms we were learning absolutely nothing. But today we were learning how to fly. Sure i had watched Percy and Charlie and even Bill play but I was always planning a prank when the others were flying. Plus we never had enough brooms.

There we stood on the field with the Slytherins. I had decided I didn't like the Malfoy boy and so i had ignored him since he and Fred had met. The twins were on either side of me.

Madam Hooch started right away. "All right line up beside your broom. Hold your right hand above it and say 'Up!'"

I did as she said and on the first try it flew into my hand. Fred and Georges came next then Malfoy's and then everyone else had their brooms in hand. We mounted our brooms and were told how to grip it correctly. There was one girl that was very nervous. Her name was Nila I don't know her last name but she was forgetful.

Well Nila kicked off from the ground before Madam Hooch had blown her whistle. Her broom went out of control and she fell to the ground her face white from fear and pain. The broom on the other hand went off towards the forbidden forest.

"Nobody goes into the air until I get back. If they do they will be expelled faster than you can say "Quiddatch"" She said taking Nila to the hospital wing.

Malfoy and his two friends took the chance as soon as Madam Hooch was out of range.

"What do we have here? a stone? Oh a picture stone!" Malfoy laughed

I jumped in for Nila. She had helped me find stuff in the library before and she was really nice. I walked up to Malfoy "Give it here." I said holding out my hand.

"No" He smirked at me. "I think I'll just put it up somewhere where she can find in a tree maybe!" He said taking to the sky.

"Haylie don't!" Lee said. One of our best friends but not the best at rule breaking.

I flew up after him somehow knowing what to do. "Not so strong up here without your little friends are you?" I taunted but he just smirked and pointed. There behind me were his friends. I could never remember their names but at this point i didn't want to they both held rocks about the size of a mini soccer ball and they were taking aim at me. I covered my head as they threw the rocks but the rocks never hit me.

I looked up to see the twins with sticks in their hands and the rocks nowhere in sight. Malfoy went pail. "give it here!" I said again "Or I'll knock you off your broom!"

"Have it your way then!" He said and threw it as far as he could.

I flew after it I went into a steep dive and about a foot above the ground caught the little stone and pulled out of my dive. I landed with a soft 'thud' on the grass all my friends cheering around me. Then Professor McGonigall came rushing out. "Weasleys, Potter come with me!" She said quickly. We were busted for sure.

Malfoy and his friends were smiling but we were not going to her office in stead we stopped at professor Quirll's office and she asked for Wood. At first we thought we were going to be punished but then a boy came out and fallowed us down the hall to her office.

"Potter, Weasleys this is Oliver Wood he is the new Quidditch captain for Gryffindor." She explained "Wood I have found you a new seeker and two beaters!" She said beaming.
