I stared after him as he walked away. Something in my stomach fluttered when I thought of seeing him again tomorrow but I pushed it away and decided to walk home. I was glad my house was so close because I didn't know how much further I could've made it. I was utterly exhausted, I hadn't slept at all last night. I threw on some sweats and got into bed. I lay on my back and stared at the ceiling, unable to sleep. I wished for once my mind would turn off and let me sleep at night like normal people but my mind bombarded me with questions and thoughts that I couldn't control. One vary prominent over the rest. The thought completely terrified me. It had been keeping me up at night for weeks on end. I tried my best to push it away but it was seemingly all I could focus on. The battle against myself dragged on for hours until thankfully sleep overtook me and I drifted away.
I woke what around 45 minutes after I had fallen asleep in a cold sweat, my heart racing. I looked at the clock reading 4:12am. There wasn't any way I was going to fall back asleep before my alarm went off at 6 so I decided to climb out of my window and go for a walk before my parents woke up. I couldn't remember what made me wake up specifically, but I'd been having nightmares for months so it wasn't anything new. I walked along the empty of LA keeping to myself until I reached a park. I sat down on a swing and pulled out my phone checking my messages.
One Unread Message From: Hannah
Hey Con, how's LA? I miss you XOXO
-Han
Hannah is my best friend, although we hadn't talked in a while. I miss her a lot. I knew it was the middle of the night for her and she had sent that text hours ago but I decided to text her back anyway, just in case she was up.
To Hannah:
Hi Han! I miss you too, LA's great.
I lied but I didn't want to worry her by telling her how much I hated it.

The message popped up on my screen. I pressed the silver button on my phone down and shut it off, standing up from my place on the swing. I trudged back to my house. I had pulled out my phone again about a block away from my house to check the time. As I was looking down I suddenly slammed into someone. I looked up, my eyes met with piercing blue eyes, stunned.
