Chapter 36

My knees curled into my chest and I just stared, breathed slowly and sat in silence until some how I fell asleep.

Shivers ran up and down my spine from the cold air rising from the ground and sticking to my body. I forced myself off the ground, breathing in the morning air that surrounded me along with trees.

I woke up many times through the night and I already know the next place I'm headed to.

The park.

My feet shuffled through the grass occasionally stepping on twigs having them snap underneath my feet. Everything was so silent and peaceful, I have no idea what time it is since I don't have a phone with me. Once the park came in sight I walked a little faster and climbed up on the monkey bars, just sitting there, thinking and admiring my surrounding.

My mouth opened and my eyes shut while I yawned. Once my eyes opened again memories came flooding in my head.

The day Luke and I actually had a secret and sat in the play set alone, Calum throwing a fit because he thought but was actually right that we were dating.

I know I've screwed up big time but honestly would they care if I came back? Will they ever forgive me? Will they always be mad forever?

I don't think that they are mad I think it's more described as anger, disappointment, hate, rage and annoyed. This time I'm almost positive I just lost everyone that I cared about.

"Hey, are you okay?" I was snapped out of my thoughts by a girl with dark brown hair and bright green eyes jumping up and down attempting to wave her hand in front of my face.

"To be honest I've been better so, no, not really" I sighed. "Oh, I'm sorry well why are you out here so early? Do you realize you are shaking?" She asked.

I glanced down at my hands seeing lack of color due to the cold mornings. "I've been out here all night" I shrugged, her eyes widened a little and she stepped back "Come on you can come with me" she smiled.

"So what's your name?" She asked "Winter, you are?" I answered. "I'm Emerald" she smiled again.

We walked in a comfortable silence after turning down some street. A few more houses up and we turned in the driveway of a nice house.

I followed her into the house that was way bigger in the inside than I thought it would be. "It's just me here like always so if you feel comfortable you can talk to me" she said like it was more of a question. We walked into a living room with a huge grey couch that looked more like a bed. I sat down on the couch and pretty much sunk into it making me want to fall asleep right away.

"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to" she said sitting down. I took a deep breath. I feel like I can trust her, also I really need to someone to talk to right now.

"Wait...why is that one guy mean?" She listened the entire time while I told her everything and I knew she was by the way she would cut me off by asking questions about everything.

"Luke?" I question, she nodded so I took a deep breath knowing this will be a lot to tell.

I explained everything that has ever happened between Luke and I and her jaw was slightly dropped.

"Wow, well you really need to get away from the drama so if you want you can stay here for a few days, and we can get to know each other" she suggested.

"Okay sounds good, thank you. Now I have a question for you"

"Where are your parents?" I asked. "Well...I'm 19 so I already graduated and I tended to get in a lot of trouble so my parents bought me this house and pretty much forced me hours away from them" she explained.
