Chapter 37

She got off the couch painfully slow and stood up finally, her whole body was trembling, she took a few steps until she stopped. Her whole body went weak and she clasped to floor harshly.

          Winters POV

"Everything will be alright, calm down" Luke soothed. His hands were placed on my shoulders and he stared right into my eyes. "Don't tell me to calm down" I grit.

I backed away from him but continued to pace around in the waiting room of the hospital. I just want to know if my best friend is alright.

I can't get ahold of her mom or dad. Calums head was in his hands and he won't say anything. I sit down next to him immediately wrapping my arms around her. "I love her" he mumbled under his breath just enough where I heard him.

"Don't stress to much she'll be fine" I said, Luke scoffed and I looked up to see him glaring at me. "Uh huh go ahead tell him my advice" I shot him a look.

"she only passed out, I'm sure her fever was too high or something" Luke reassured Calum, I nodded in agreement. "do you think she is actually is over me?" Calum questions, I wanted to laugh. "if you know Jane, you know she doesn't get over people like that"

"Is she like how you are with Luke, you cant get enough of him" he snickered, Luke immediately looked at me with a smirk plastered across his face. "don't get ahead of yourself Luke, oh and Cal watch when you stand up next time" I smiled innocently.

Luke sat down next to me, the smell of mint gum slapped me right in the face and his chewing ran through my ears. "shut your mouth you damn cow" I glared, his eyes rolled at me.

Is there such thing as a sass ass? because if there is Luke is the definition of one.

The nurse that we spoke with earlier walked our way and we all stood up. "This is definitely not a normal sickness but right now we are seeing signs of possible Leukemia, we took some test but we wont know for sure until the results comeback, but we are almost positive, you'll be able to see her in a few if you want" We all nod slowly not really sure on what to say, I truly never expected something to happen like this.

I slowly turn my head to look at Calum, he stared at nothing and his face was completely blank. Next I look at Luke, the same expression was frozen on to his face. And mine. It's the same.

"S-she'll be fine" I struggled out. She will be fine. She is fine. This is not happening and I won't accept it.

"You can see her now" the nurse said while she walked passed.

I ran searching for her room number.

Door by door, it was like a never ending hall.

I stood in front of her door and barged in. I look at her face that is completely drained of color, she looked almost lifeless.

"Hi" she croaked I sprinted over to her and engulfed her into a hug.

"You'll be completely fine" I assured her. "I'm not leaving"

"You don't have to stay, I'm okay" she whispers. "Uhm no, I'm staying"

"Hey how are you" Luke walked in. "Fine" she completely lied. I could tell she was scared and confused.

Luke nodded and sat down by her feet."wheres Calum?" I question "uhh, uhm, he'll be in, in a minute"

The door opened and Calum walked in, he stared at Jane.

              A Week Later

Calum looked devastated when the words fell out of the nurses mouth.
