"Mama what did you feel when you saw Baba for the first time?" Tao asked, Xiumin and Tao were laying bundled up in a field of snow watching the other four omegas talking in secret.

"Oh?" Xiumin raised a brow. "Why do you ask? Has one of the betas here caught your eyes? Maybe Kris?"

"Mama!" Tao sat up and pouted.

"Fine fine, it felt amazing." Xiumin looked at the falling snow with a blush. "I was simply about to write a rejection letter to a wolf that sent a matting proposal when your Baba burst through the door."

"Why did he go into your room when he didn't know you?" Tao's eyes shined with innocence.

"He was running from my sister." Xiumin laughed. "We've told you how he was promised to my sister before he met me right?"

"Yes, and that's why you two ran away!" Tao grinned. "I'm glad you two did because then I met you and the others."

"That you did." Xiumin kissed Tao's cheek. "I'm glad we did as well, my family wasn't the nicest of people."

"So grandpa isn't a nice person?"

"No but your grandma was the nicest person in the world." Xiumin smiled but tears were evident in his eyes.

"Is she dead?" Tao asked bluntly. Xiumin burst out laughing wiping his tears.

"Yes she is little one." Xiumin pulled Tao even closer. "I didn't know her long, she died giving birth to a different pup...both she and the pup died."

"I'm sorry Mama."

"Oh it's fine," Xiumin patted his back. "I've moved on. Time has healed that wound, there wasn't anything I could have done about it."

"That's impressive you can think that way." A deep voice startled the two, they looked up to see Kris and Lay standing before them.

"The way I see it, is that there was nothing I could have done and even if there was something it's in the past." Xiumin said. "I can't change what happened and there is no one to blame."

"Fascinating!" Lay beamed, he plopped down next to them and soon Kris followed. "Can you tell us anything else about the pack?"

"I'm not sure," Xiumin said slowly. "I'll go ask Chen if it's okay, I'll be back soon."

Xiumin stood up and left Tao with the two betas. Tao started to drawl patterns in the snow, trying to hide his blush.

"So Tao you must have been really young when Chen and Xiumin found you." Lay said trying to make conversation.

"I was 11." Tao said softly.

"How did they find you?" Kris asked cautiously. "I mean if you don't want to-"

"It's fine Kris." Tao looked at Kris with a shy smile. "I'll tell you."

"Hey Tao who are they?" Josh pointed towards the large group of people entering their village.

"How should I know?" Tao responded. "Ask someone else."

"Hey don't speak to me like that!" Josh lightly growled. "I'm going to be your alpha one day!"

"Yeah but not today!" Tao stuck his tongue out at his betrothed.

"My baba says that in 2 years we'll mate." Josh said proudly.

"My baba said that your baba can kiss his ass." Tao responded. "He wants me to be 18 and then mate."

"But that's in 7 years!" Josh complained.
