I felt Ciel slipping away into the claws of darkness.....

"No..." I whispered, "I.... I can't let this happen..."

Claude laughed, then kicked me in the stomach. "There's nothing you can do. You're just a worthless excuse for a demon! How you even call yourself one... It's bullshit!"

I cringed at that. He wasn't wrong. I was a poor excuse for a demon.

I can't even keep my master.... No.... My lover... Safe from harm...

I'm so terrible... I don't deserve Ciel... I don't deserve anything....

"No..." I said again, "No. I have to be strong.... I have to do this for Ciel... Even if it means...."

I looked at him. "Even if it means my death..."

Ciel raised his head weakly. "S-seba--"

His words were cut short as he started having a terrible coughing fit. Blood dripped down his chin and onto the floor.

My eyes widened. His eyes met mine for less than a second.. Then lost all life. His head hung limply.

I screamed, then pressed my hands to my head.

I....

I can't believe....

I let him die....

I just sat here....

Tears started streaming down my cheeks. I felt myself turn pale.

My life has no meaning now....

I stood up shakily, then looked over to where Claude was bent over Ciel's body.

He craned his head to look at me. A wild smile spread across his face. His eyes glowed bright gold. "H-he's-s mi-ine n-now!!!"

I staggered backward. "Y-you... You didn't!!"

He laughed wildly. "I DID!"

He took Ciel's soul....

"YOU DAMN BASTARD!" I roared. "I WILL KILL YOU FOR THIS!"

My body trembled as I lunged toward him. I caught him off guard, and yanked him, hard, to the ground.

He just smiled wider. "Y-you ha-ave to d-do-o better than th-that t-to hurt m-me!"

Anger claimed my body. All became red once again as I released everything on him.

I couldn't see what I was doing. I only felt his blood splatter all over my body...
