The summer night air wraps around us as we leave C'est La Vie. We're all laughing and cheering in the dark streets as we make our way along the sidewalks back to the main part of town. After the owner of the cafe left, we all felt the need for a good night of drinking, Caylen and I especially, so as we're walking she clings to Ashton's arm and I'm walking close to Liam, who's prepared to grab me at a moment's notice.

The buildings go by in a slow, but hazy blur of laughter and happiness. At the bar, we ran into another of the guys' friends, Calum, the bassit in Ashton's struggling band. He joined us as we celebrated our win over the cafe owner and drank until we couldn't feel our toes anymore.

Walking ahead of Liam and I are Ashton and Caylen. Ashton's carrying Caylen's bag of clothes that she'd brought with her from her vacant apartment, anticipating staying at a friend's or Ashton's place tonight. I'm glad I was there to stand up for her and be able to help her out in this tough time. I know she's a great person and I can't believe how the owner reacted to her, especially considering he was at the bar himself tonight.

When we reach the more central area of our neighborhood, Harry and Madi head off in one direction after saying their good-byes. As Harry is walking away, he calls back to Ashton, saying, "Remember give Liam and I a call in the morning about that deal okay?"

Ashton yells back, in somewhat of a drunken Aussie slur, "Wouldn't forget it man! This is gonna be sick!"

Next to me, Liam chuckles and I stare up at him. He meets my gaze and asks what I'm staring at him for.

"What is Harry talking about?"

"Just something Ashton and Calum had talked to us about at the bar," he replies, being very vague.

I huff at him and turn my concetration back to walking along the almost deserted sidewalk. Liam smiles and nudges my shoulder. He chuckles a little and I glance up at him, unsure if I should be annoyed or completely attracted. I'm starting to realize there's nothing that Liam does that doesn't attract me to him.

My attempt to appear annoyed fails and I end up laughing along with him, nudging him back, which leads to he and I pushing each other back and forth for the next block. Just as I'm going to nudge him again, he takes hold on my wrists and plants a sweet kiss right on my tingling lips. The way our lips are moving together is unexplainable. The blend of raw passion in our movements tamed only slightly by the sweet sensuality of our natural tendencies together. I've never experienced a kiss like this ever. It's not alcohol induced, because I'm sure some people would suspect all our feelings are heightened due to that. But, on our walk back to my apartment the cool night air, mixed with our joking around has almost sobered us both completely.

This is raw, uncontaminated, real feeling. Real emotions. Real love that we are experiencign right now.

I hear someone clear their throat, and I pull away from Liam to see Ashton and Caylen facing us. Caylen, who's more sober now, is casually wrapped her arm around his and he's cocked his eyebrow and flashing us the cheekiest grin I've ever seen. I open my mouth, attempting to some words in my brain to form a sentence, but nothing comes out.

Much to my relief, Liam speaks up, "What? You've never seen two people kissing?"

Caylen and Ashton look at each other, then back to us.

Liam continues, "Some privacy would be nice."

That's when the two crack up and Ashton manages to say, "Why don't y'all get a room then?"

"We have. You've never seen a person sleep on the streets before? Pretty sure this is a room right here," I jab back at him.

Liam busts out laughing, and Caylen and Ashton just laugh harder, while I stand there, silently proud in my comeback, but still trying to contain some shred of the sass my words originally contained.
