After watching the sunset with Caylen and Madi, we continued to the ferry to cross over into France. We loaded the old blue van onto the barge, and once it was safely secured, the group scattered around, each looking around and taking in the British waterway.
I find myself standing along the upper deck's railing, lookin out over the greyish water, breathing in the smell of the slightly salty water, listening to the birds cry off in the distance. I close my eyes as a breeze envelopes me, surrounding me with it's salty, sweet presence. Just as I am releasing my breath, a pair of strong arms wrap themselve around me. I smile, turning to see Liam and his big brown eyes gazing our over the water.
He grins and looks down to meet my eyes. "Hey love," he says.
I chuckle a little and reply, "Hi there."
"You excited about the trip?" he asks, his sweet accent filling each of his words.
"Of course! Seriously this festival is going to be amazing! I know us girls will have a great time and you guys are going to do great!"
He stiffles a laugh, then cranes his neck and plants a sweet kiss on my neck. Chills cover my body, immediately feeling the effcects of my feelings for him sweep over me. This is still so amazing to me how quickly Liam and I have become so important and so clearly connected to each other in the time that we've been together. It's not simply lust or infatuation, blind love, whatever people like to lay blame to, but this is so much more.
Love. Real. True. Passion.
Nothing can explain it better than simply that it is real. Nothing has or ever will compare to this feeling that Liam and I share. I close my eyes, leaning my head back onto his strong chest, feeling his body against mine, the warmth of him contrasted by the chill of the ocean's breeze and the ferry beigns it's journey across the English Canal.
We stay like this together for a while unil Harry walks over to us. "Hey man, Sadie," he says with his deep voice. "We want to run over a few things and start putting togther the set."
"Sure thing," Liam replies then turns to me, "You gonna be okay for a little?"
I let out something along the lines of a huff and reply, "Me? Duh, I'll just go find the girls! Have fun, babe!"
Liam laughs and gives me a quick, but stunning kiss before heading off with Harry to join Calum, Luke and Ashton around a table down on the lower deck. I look around, finding Caylen and Madi walking over to where I'm standing. They give me two big bright smiles before saying hey.
"Heyyy!" I chime back. I don't hesitate at all before turning to Madi and dropping the bomb. "So Mads, what was that that I saw with Luke earlier?" I raise an eyebrow, very very curious about what this possibly could be.
Instantly, Madi's face turns a bright shade of red and Caylen busts out laughing.
Between chuckles, Caylen manages to say, "I knew this was gonna happen! I so so called this!"
"So??" I repeated.
Madi takes a deep breath, then starts, "Luke is a close friend. We always sort of had unspoken feelings for each other, but nothing was ever actually acted upon. Not long after, Harry and I started dating, and then about two months into that, Luke told me he'd loved me ever since he'd laid eyes on me" She gives me the most annoyed look possible, rolling her eyes as well. "Needless to say, I was slightly frustrated. But, Harry's amazing and I love him with all my heart, so nothing was going to break us up. Not even Luke. A year later, Luke is still slightly awkward around us, which is understandable, but things are good. I just don't see him as much as before, so seeing him today and finding out that he was coming with us was a bit of a suprise." She clenches her teeth and widens her eyes as she shakes her head.
