I fluttered my eyes open, as I woke up in a bed where my body was lying in red satin bed sheets. Was I seeing red everywhere tonight? I wasn't exactly in it, but my arms were tied to the posting of the bed with a red tie. The last image that flashed by in my head was the pool of red and the figure that seemed to have caught me red-handed. Again, red. If he ever approached me, I was seriously going to ask if red was his favourite colour. I moved about furiously, fervent to get out of this particular position. If he wanted to talk or even kill me, he could have let me free. I tried to unravel the tie, which was tightly pressed around my arm. I attempted to reach for the knot with my teeth, as the door opened. The handsome stranger appeared before me in clean clothes, that didn't even seem like he got himself in a dirty deed a while ago. He closed the door behind and came over to the bed. I gulped, worried about was running in his head at the moment. I think looks were enough to kill me. I mean look at his chiseled form, the stubble around his perfect jawline. The dazzling emerald eyes that was creased in thought, scanning all over me in my pajamas since seventh grade.

He finally spoke huskily, killing the most awkward silence between us.

'Welcome little girl, didn't your mummy and daddy warn you to not trespass strange-looking property that looks like no one hasn't lived in for years.' 'I .. I didn't realise it would be occupied. Like seriously..Who would have thought this place would be inhabited?' 'So why did you come in? I thought the residents of this street would have been smarter than that.' I was curious about you and this house. 'Honestly, you lead me to yourself..' The pupils in his eyes dilated. He reached for a gun in his left pocket and aimed it at me. I let out a blood curdling scream. He screamed into my face. 'What do you mean? Did you previously know I lived here? Has someone payed you a lot of money to keep tabs on me? You don't know what I am capable of at the moment. I can blow out your tiny brains in one go and I will clean up your red mess just like the other victim who lost his life in the same way.' I was honestly lost for words. He killed someone. Here in this house. This place was indeed scary. 'Yo..u..u. killed someone?' 'Yes, do you want me to do the same to you?' I shakily shook my head to the side. He then trailed his gun on my face, as he traced it down to my lips. 'So tell me, or else my little secret will be buried along with your remains. And trust me this is the last place anyone would ever look for your body.' He whispered into my ears. I could feel a chill run down my spine by his venomous words. He seemed to be used to this, was he a serial killer. I hope not. 'So be a smart little girl, and open up that little mouth of yours. 'I..I only wanted to see the Christmas lights, nothing else. I came across this house and I saw something glowing. I knew I should have strayed, but curiosity got to me. Like I said if I knew better, I would have gone. But then I realized that someone was living here and that I wanted to know who it was. That is all. Please let me go. I won't tell anybody anything.' 'You only wanted to see those stupid lights outside past 12 at night. Why couldn't you do that before your bed time?' 'I dont know. I guess I was bored..' 'Oh..bored. I'm guessing your a girl that likes a bit of an adventure. Especially at night. Else you wouldn't have had the guts to follow me back into my house, even if you knew there was blood on my hands.' 'One strange question? Is your favourite colour red?' He chuckled, showing me an hint of his beautiful smile. Stop, he killed an innocent soul. 'Yes. It is. It's the colour of blood.' I could feel my heart pounding. 'Who are you and why did you kill that innocent person?' 'Oh my. What has a curious little girl like yourself got herself into? If I decide to tell you that, I would need be sure that you won't run off your mouth to anyone.' 'I won't tell anyone. I swear. Just tell me!' 'You are very eager. It scares me.' 'Ok, you don't have to. But can I please go home atleast?' 'I don't think that's a good idea, not after what you saw tonight. I can't let you expose me.' 'Have I been talking in Japanese the whole time. I said I won't tell anyone. Velvet Court is a dead quiet street anyway, no one even spills secrets about eachother. You have my word. I would rather forget what happened.' I was on the verge of tears. 'Please I need to graduate high school, go to college and buy my first car. So please have some mercy on me.' He looked at me intensely. 'Fine. But just remember that if any one else finds out, I will assume you broke your promise.' He leaned forward showing his face more clearly to me as he undid the knots. 'And remember I'm just a couple of houses away from where you live. You don't want me coming to your house in the middle of the night, and doing unspeakable things to you with your parents around. I gulped. This man was so damn attractive but was extremely intimidating at the same time. He finally freed me as he lead me out of the room. We were in another room upstairs, that was far from the one that contained the blood.
