I got up early to prepare myself for our field trip today. I texted Kate to ask if she was still going. She had caught the flu, so she didn't go last minute. Josh had called to escort me to school. I packed all my belongings and waited outside.
Before I locked the front door, I decided to check the mailbox. I shuffled through bills and advertisements, till my eyes lay on a white envelope. One that was strikingly familiar to the one Hunter sent the first time we met. What did he want now? I tore it apart.
'I'm watching you.'
What did he mean by that? There was something very odd about his behaviour. Did he notice me and Josh outside his home that day? Was that why he was so put off? I scrunched the envelope in my hand and threw it in the bin. Josh had arrived by then to pick me up.
We waited outside the front gate, much earlier than the other students and teachers. Clearly this was intentional because his hands were snaked around my waist, reaching for my lips. I melted immediately as he placed soft gentle kisses on my lips.
We were at it for a while, till someone cleared their throat behind us. Mr Barret stood a few meters away spectating our show. 'Oh. Mr Barret. Didn't see you there.' 'Off course you didn't.' He gave a playful smirk. He was referring to our kiss. 'How's your hand by the way.' His green eyes lightened up as they looked at me ferociously. 'It couldn't be better. Some wounds take time to heal.' I gulped at his bitter choice of words. I don't get what his problem was. He was the one that has been fucking all this up. He wanted to be far, far away. Was he just simply jealous?
'Are you two together?' His venemous gaze landed back on Josh's calm ones. 'I guess you could say that.' Is that what is pissing him off? Mine and Josh's closeness. I thought back to the intrusion. The blood, shattered glass. 'I'm watching you.' Wait a minute? I looked over at his white bandage. It wasn't him that was watching Josh and I? He knew how to enter into my house unknowingly. I mean he could have saw us standing outside. He didn't follow us did he? I slowly raised my eyes back up to him, as he looked back at me intensely. That may explain his mood.
Everybody slowly arrived, especially Miss Deli and Bianca. As soon as she spotted Josh and I, she strolled over to us in her usual bitchy self. 'Oh. So it's true. Your both seeing eachother?' Before I could say anything, Josh had stepped forward. 'Disappointed?' Her face fell. 'Ha! Not the least. It's not like she's going to last anyway.' 'Just because you didn't, doesn't mean she will.' 'Well if that is what you think. I'm just warning her. You do remember the good times we had. The most memorable of all. If you ever want to revisit them, you know who to go back to.' 'Is that why you go to male teachers? To revisit those memories?' She stood there glaring at me. Hunter couldn't help but smirk at my comment. I especially glared at him. Bianca was stumped. She was shocked that I knew her dirty little secret. 'Teachers?' Josh looked confused. Hunter gave me a look. 'Bianca.' I dared. 'Yeah Yeah. Just because she's with you. She thinks she can say anything now. After all the lost girl has been found.' I could feel both pair of blue and green on me. It was so ironic wasn't it.
As we were about to board the bus, Bianca stomped off. She flashed her fake smile at Hunter, while I rolled my eyes. Mr Barret called us all in a line. 'So before we head in, I am going to call out your names as we enter.' I stood in the middle, while he ticked off names. As it came to me, I tried to look elsewhere. 'Rose.' My name rolled off his tongue like honey. Every other name sounded quick and casual, while my name came off slow and sexy. Our eyes briefly met, as our bodies slowly went past. And as always there was a spark that ignited between us, as his eyes bored into mine. 'Rose!' Josh called me over to join him, interupting us. I shyly made my way to him.
Hunter explained all the rules and informed us about our trip. We were visiting the local museum to check out the literature works of famous writers. Something that I looked forward too.
