The light snuck in through the blinds of Dan's room and ran across the floor and over to the wall where a small box sat on a table. It was Dan's special memory box full of memories he'd never want to forget. Of course half of them were with Phil. Dan was still fast asleep as the door to his room slowly opened.
"Dan?" Phil whispered as he quietly began to walk inside the room. Phil stopped in his tracks once he saw Dan laying in his bed cuddled up with blankets and a monkey Phil had bought him a while back when they were both just getting used to one another. "Dan?" Phil whispered again just to hear his name once more.
Dan opened his eyes to see a tall familiar figure who he automatically recognized as Phil who was back from his 3 week trip to his parents' house. "PHIL!!!" Dan hopped up and into Phil's arms without thinking. But instead of Phil hugging back he stood there frozen and whispered. "You lied to me" Once Dan heard those words he had remembered the fight they had last night over text about Dan's "date" to a local restaurant. Dan stopped the awkward hug immediately and looked down in shame. "Y-you don't understand, I did it because-....." He spoke then his voice gave out before the explanation could begin.
Phil's ice cold eyes stayed locked on Dan's hair. "You lied to get me jealous." He finished Dan's sentence for him. Dan shifted his weight from one leg to another sending a small creaking sound in the floorboards. "I-.....I'm sorry Phil" Dan choked on his words as he began tearing up again. The awkward silence never failed to show up right on cue as the two stood there, both filled with completely different emotions than the other.
