Dan soon woke up to his phone vibrating on the table next to him. It was a phone call from Phil. "Hello?" He spoke in his tired voice. To his surprise, the response from Phil wasn't very nice. "WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?!?!? I'VE CALLED AT LEAST TWENTY TIMES NOW DAN, WHY DIDN'T YOU ANSWER ME?!" Dan's eyes darted over to the digital clock sitting by his bed. 4:00 pm. "W-what time did you leave?" He trembled not actually wanting to hear the answer. "Dan, I left at 9 o'clock this morning and I've been trying to call you since!!" Phil's voice sounded different than usual, more panicked and more caring all at once. Dan looked at the carpet in his room. "I'm s-sorry...I fell asleep once you walked out of the room and-" Phil suddenly cut him off with crying noises. "Phil?...Phil!? Are you okay??" Dan asked in a worried tone. Suddenly the line cut off and Dan was left in silence.
There was a knock at the door. Dan, suspecting it was Phil, shot up and rushed to the door immediately. Opening the door he yelled "Phil are you oka-...." He looked at the woman standing in the doorway. "M-....Mum......" Dan began shaking. "W-what are you d-doing here..?" He spoke again, this time his voice was quieter and it had a more terrified tone to it. Without warning Dan's mother had grabbed him by the ear and started to drag him across the house over to the kitchen table. "OW OW WHAT DID I DO WRONG OWW" Dan screamed in pain. "You idiot, you almost KISSED ANOTHER BOY!!" His mom screamed back at him as she slammed his head down on the table. Dan started crying as he realized what Phil must have done once he got worried. "D-did... Phil c-call you?" He asked as his Mom stared at him in anger. She never responded to the question and went directly to swinging him across the room over to a corner where she started hitting him. Dan screamed and sobbed in pain as his mother continued to hit and kick him.
