Dan continued to scream even louder each time his mother hit or kicked him in hope that someone would hear and someone would help, but unfortunately no one came. Instead of the screams helping, it just made the beating worse for Dan but he wasn't giving up. Even with a bloody nose and a busted lip Dan still had hope.
Dan screamed one last time using all his power he had left. Just then his mother grabbed his head and slammed it against the wall. "If you scream one more time like that I will knock you out boy." She spoke cruelly. Dan thought about this for a second, considering that she'd still beat him while he wasn't conscious and would get tired so he would feel the other half of the beating, plus, one more scream might just do the trick. Suddenly he heard footsteps outside the door and he knew exactly who it must've been. Phil. One sudden scream would get Phil to save him in no time. Dan took a huge deep breathe in and then screamed as loud as possible. "PHIL HELP ME PLEASE!" His mother, hearing that his last possible cry for help was for someone that he's fallen in love with, got even more mad and grabbed a hold of Dan's head once again. As she pulled it back getting ready to hit it against the wall one last time Phil ran into the room.
"Dan?!???! Where are you?!?" He looked over to the corner of the room and saw Dan's mother holding his head. Dan screamed and cried one last time before his mother banged his head against the wall. Phil ran over to Dan, pushing his mom out of the way and looked at him all over, observing the blood that covered his face. "D-Dan?" Phil whispered shaking. His eyes traveled over to Dan's mother. Phil stood up and threw a full out punch to the tall woman sending her to the floor as she coughed up blood. "You idiot" she yelled as she ran out the door.
