Gonna update now cos I let u all wait too long
"Ow!" Katie whipped behind. She didn't say anything. Was there really someone else in the room? "Come out!" She ordered, as confidently as she could. "Jesus..." A boy about her age appeared from behind a stack of boxes. One box had fallen and contents were spilled on the floor.
"Who are you?" The boy peered at her. "Katie. Who are you and what are you doing here?" "I'm Lewis." He said. "My brother put me in here for claims of safety purposes." "You mean that jerk at that counter typing away on his phone while leaving his little brother in the store room?" Katie asked. "You mean Liam? Yeah..." Lewis shrugged.
"What is happening anyway?" He said after a long and awkward moment. "You see, my stepfather got mad on me, my brother, and my sister. We were on a chase before we hit low and gotta pull up here. From the loud sounds, my evil stepfather has arrived." Katie sighed. "You wanna see? We can stack boxes up like stairs! Then we'd be able to peek through the window!" Lewis suggested. Katie stared surprised. He didn't seem like a smart one.
"Alright." Katie agreed, though she was a little annoyed she didn't think of it first. They dragged the boxes together, as they were still kids and cannot carry heavy loads. Fortunately, the boxes weren't too heavy. "These are just supplies. The heavier ones are at the left side of the room." Lewis told her when she questioned.
Finally the duo stepped back to see their work. "Ain't art but it'll work. Hoist me up." Katie said. With Lewis's help, she managed to clamber to the top. The boxes seemed pretty strong, really.
Katie's eyes widened at the sight. She heard Lewis climbing up with her, but she was more focused on the outside. Aston, Alanna and Liam were fighting. It was a harsh fight, adding the fact that Kent had brought two others with him. They were burly and muscles bulged from their shirts. "Holy! We need to call the police!" Lewis gasped. "Katie stay here. I'm gonna get the emergency telephone." "I'm coming." Katie frowned. Lewis nodded and they both got off the boxes.
They peeked cautiously before tiptoeing out. Katie couldn't help but feel like the spy in a storybook that Alanna often read to her called 'Charlie the Spy'. "Ah found it." Lewis's voice broke her thoughts. He was just crawling out from under the counter, a small white cellphone in his hand. Katie was assigned as a look-out, while Lewis dialed.
"They almost didn't believe me. Thought I was a kid pranking. But they're coming." Lewis frowned, tucking the phone in his back pocket. "I'm not going back to the stuffy store room." Katie huffed. "It is the safest place but then you are right..." Lewis was interrupted when one of the burly men barged through the door, gun raised.
