heyo! As said, updates are scarce currently as the exam rolls around. It ends at 12 September...I'll make up for it after that exam ends!

The man grinned evilly at them, gun raised, finger on the trigger. It wasn't Kent, fortunately, but.... No Katie! Focus! she forced herself.
The man lumbered over and Katie felt the gun's cool metal press against her forehead. "What-what do you want?" She stammered. With the gun on her forehead, all she felt now was fear. Heck, any third-grader would be wailing to their mummy.
"You're Robert's daughter aren't you?" the man hissed. "Adopted daughter." Katie hissed back, defending herself. Never would she be known as Robert, or Kent's daughter.
Katie glanced around for Lewis but she couldn't spot him. She groaned. That coward left her with a burly man with a pistol.
"Your buddy wouldn't be here and anyway Katie love...your father only asked for you." "He isn't my father." Katie muttered. The man let out a hearty laugh. He took a rope out of his back jeans pocket and even though Katie kicked, punched and screamed at him, he managed to tie Katie to the counter chair. She screamed in frustration as a piece of cloth was put into her mouth.
"I'm gonna grab some things honey." the man whispered. Katie now sat still at the chair. She was scared. She'd never felt so scared before because...of course, it was because Aston and Alanna were always there for her. They were not her real siblings, but blood never mattered did it? She never regretted not knowing her birth parents. Nor did she when she was sent to Kent's house and met Aston and Alanna. The only problem was Kent.
Katie's stomach twisted, her thoughts in a jumble as she wondered how they were keeping on right now, just behind the wall . She struggled against the ropes, to no avail. Her head snapped up when the man said a particularly loud sentence. The man had been speaking to her the entire time and not one word had she listened to. Oh well.
"You droned out Kate." the man chuckled. "My name is Jack. That is all you need to know." Jack smashed the refrigerator door and grabbed a couple of beer cans. Katie noticed a few cans strayed on the floor, and the black sports bag that Jack held was now bulging. The alcohol drinks form the fridges were all wiped out too. Figures.
Kate then realized that Jack called her Kate. No, only Aston and Alanna are allowed to call her that! Maybe Lewis if he hung around longer, but definitely not the jerk face that tied her to a chair and is now robbing a convenience store. She saw red, and tugged at the rope, breathing hard. She realized the rope had loosened a little.
Jack then grabbed a hammer from the sports bag and Katie watched, wide-eyed, as he smashed the cashier. The money, he collected quickly. Katie could only watch in disgust and silence.
A loud commotion can suddenly be heard outside. Katie gasped slightly as gunshots rang out. Boom! Boom! Boom! Three for each. Aston, Alanna and Lewis' s annoying brother, Liam. Katie prayed that somehow they weren't shot, or better yet, the gunshots were by the cops or but them. She even found herself praying and gaining respect for Liam who selflessly, annoyingly headed out to fight. Lewis didn't deserve to lose a sibling over her problems.
A shout came from the outside and Jack groaned. "Stay there." he warned, before dashing out. Katie snorted.
"Katieeee..." Someone whispered. Katie looked down and saw Lewis crawling towards her, Nylon in his arms. He set Katie's beloved plushie onto her lap before ripping open her gag.
"Where have you been?" Katie snapped, relieved she could talk freely again. Lewis didn't answer, but continued cutting the bonds with a red penknife.
As Lewis concentrated on loosening and cutting the thick ropes, Katie strained to listen to any sound or conversation outside. Fear built up when she heard Kent shout "Get Katie idiot. Bastard called police. Now hurry up and leave the body there." Body. Katie shuddered at the thought, tears seeping out of her eyes. She had been holding those tears for a too long time.
She then remembered that Jack was coming to get her, and Lewis was still here! "Lewis! Go back to your hiding place! They don't want you, they want me!" This resulted in him shaking his head. Katie glared at him. "Tell the cops what happened later! Just go!" Satisfaction enveloped here as she saw him retreat meekly to the corner.
Jack returned, cockily smiling. She gritted her teeth as he tore away the stray ropes and lifted her onto his back. "Come let's bring you to daddy, Ariel." Katie sent her fist to his face at the comparison between her and her hatest Disney princess. And also because Ariel was brought back to his daddy in disgrace. As to her now. But HER daddy was the disgraceful pig.
"Hello Katie." Katie pounded her fists hard onto Jack's back at the sight of that...that stupid...pig... She noticed that the environment outside was quiet, eerie, and blood stains were on the floor. At least Kent and the other guy looked battered up. And at least no one decided to explode the petrol station. They probably valued their stupid lives.
Her breath caught at the meaning. Is Aston, Alanna and Liam dead? She started to sob at the thought. The very thought of not seeing Aston do something idiotic, not seeing Alanna scold Aston. Even the thought of never seeing Liam's cocky smirk. That meant Lewis had just lost a brother too...and he and his family could have stayed out of this.
"Stop crying." Kent ordered. Katie hastily dried those tears. "Graham. Jack. The cops are coming. We better hurry up. Get into the Benz." Katie was given to Kent and she wrinkled her nose. How dark this person touch her! She held Nylon in a death grip. The bear was coming with her. "And Katie..." Kent whispered maliciously, making her shiver. "Think before you call the police."
"Ay Jack! Everything cleared?" Kent yelled at the lad. "Kent! I've forgotten, but there's a little boy in the store that is witness and might be a tattletale!" Katie went rigid as it dawned on her. Lewis was innocent! Kent must have noticed her discomfort. "Jack! Get the boy!"
