Misunderstandings

Part 5: Awkwardness

"Let's go with my car I have it parked out the courtyard." He says as he got up and started heading to the parking lot.
"Ok." I said as I got up and followed him.
When we got there, his car was amazing. It was a yellow lambo.
"Nice car." I said as I got in the passenger side.
"Thanks." He said as he started driving.
"So what made you come to public school all of a sudden?" I asked curiously.
"Well, my mom wants me to have a normal life. And have some high school memories." He says smiling.
"I have a lot of memories from school." I said laughing.
"Tell me one." He says.
"Ok, it's embarrassing but one time I told my crush in like 6th grade I liked him. And the next day he came to school wearing torn shirts and his hair all messed up. When I asked him why is he dressed like that. He replied if I'm ugly you won't like me anymore." I said laughing.
"Wow." Cam said laughing. "That's surprising, why would he turn down such a pretty girl like Ms.Melody Kate Decker." He added as his face formed a smile.
"Very funny." I said as I blushed.
We finally got to the lake. It was quite and no one was there. There was a water fall at the top and trees all around and a valley of flowers on the side of it.
"This place is beautiful." I said as I stared at the lake.
"Yeah, I always come here when I need cooling down. My uncle showed me this place when I was 6." He replied.
"That's amazing." I said as I sat down on the edge and putted one leg out in the cool water. Cam sat next to me and rolled up his pants and started walking around the lake. I rolled up my pants also and started following him.
The flow of the water was a little rough because of the water fall and I fell. Luckily Cam caught me and I fell into his arms. Cam stared at me as we were in an awkward position.
"Sorry." I said getting up.
"It's fine." He said letting go, and started heading back to shore.
"We should get going, It's almost 6." I said.
"Yeah, we should come swimming later." He said as we headed back to the car.
"What's your phone number? So I could text you easily" He asked me as we sat down.
I typed my number in his phone as he drove me home.
"Thanks for taking me to the lake." I said as he dropped me off home.
"No problem." He said making a curve with his lips.
"Bye." I said as I waved.
"Later, Ms.Melody Kate Decker." He said as he drove off.
