Chapter 6

Outside the Canterlot Church, AJ, and the pony soldiers were still searching for Applejack as it continued to rain. In their disguise, Applejack and Apple Bloom quietly snuck past the pony soldiers, and went inside the Canterlot Church while AJ was watching them. Once Applejack and Apple Bloom made it inside the Canterlot Church, they took off their disguise, and looked around. AJ quietly went inside, and gently approached them. As he came up behind Applejack, she turned, grabbed his sword, and pulled him to the floor. "You!" Applejack said in anger as she held the sword to his face. "Easy, easy!" AJ said as he backed up. "Ah just cut mah mane this morning." "Oh, really?" Applejack asked. "Ya'll missed a spot." "All right, all right. Just calm down." AJ said "Just give me a chance to apologize." "For what?" Applejack said letting her guard down. AJ then grabbed his sword, and pushed Applejack down to the floor as he said "That, for example. "You sneaky son of a-!" Applejack tried to say, but AJ stopped her, and said "Ah, ah, ah! Watch it. Ya'll are in a church." As she picked up a staff with candles on top, Applejack said "Are ya'll always this charming, or am Ah just lucky?" She swung the staff at AJ who blocked it with his sword.

As they fought, AJ said "Candlelight..privacy..music. Can't think of a better place for hoof-to-hoof combat! Ya'll fight almost as well as a stallion." "Funny. Ah was going to say the same thing about you." Applejack said. "That's hitting a little below the belt, don't ya'll think?" AJ asked. "No. This is." Applejack said as she swung the end of the staff at AJ who blocked it with his sword. Applejack quickly then hit him in the face with the other end of the staff. AJ shook it off, and said "Touche!" Suddenly, Apple Bloom kicked him in the hooves, and said "Leave mah sister alone!" "Ah didn't know you have a sister." AJ said as he groaned in pain. "Well, she doesn't take kindly to pony soldiers." Applejack said as the fighting finally subsided. "Eh, Ah noticed." AJ said. "Permit me. Ah'm AJ. It's short for Applejack. And you are?" Applejack and Apple Bloom looked at each other as if they are thinking that AJ is tricking them. "Is this an interrogation?" Applejack asked. "Ah believe it's called an introduction." AJ said as he put his sword away. "Ya'll are not arresting me?" Applejack asked. "Not as long as you're in here." AJ said. "Ah can't." Applejack put the staff down, and said "You're not at all like the other pony soldiers." "Thank you." AJ said. "So, if you're not going to arrest me, what do you want?" Applejack asked. "Ah'd settle for your name." AJ said. Applejack smiled, and said "Applejack." Apple bloom just stared in confusion and suspicion as Applejack pointed at her, and said "And this is mah sister, Apple Bloom." "Beautiful." AJ said talking about Applejack's name. "Much better than AJ, anyway." They both looked into each other's eyes, and smiled.

Suddenly, the Canterlot Church door opened, and Discord said "Good work, Captain AJ! Now, arrest her!" Apple Bloom gasped, and hid behind Applejack who looked at Discord and the pony soldiers coming towards them. AJ looked at Discord, and the pony soldiers in worry, and he looked at Applejack, and whispered out "Claim sanctuary." Applejack glared at AJ who whispered out "Say it!" "You tricked me!" Applejack muttered out in anger. "I'm waiting, Captain AJ!" Discord said feeling impatient. AJ turned to Discord, and said "Ah'm sorry, sir. She claimed sanctuary. There's nothing Ah can do." "Then, drag her outside at-!" Discord tried to say, but Fluttershy walked in, and said "Discord! You will not touch her!" She looked at Applejack, and then glared at Discord as she said "Don't worry. Minister Discord learned years ago to respect the sanctity of the Canterlot Church." Discord glared at Fluttershy as he silently growled. AJ, Discord, and the pony soldiers started to leave, but Discord hid behind a pillar. Apple Bloom ran to AJ, and kicked him as he said "All right, all right! Ah'm going!" When nopony was looking, Discord went up to Applejack from behind, and grabbed her. "You think you've outwitted me, but I am a patient creature, and earth ponies don't do well inside stone walls." He said. Then he sniffed Applejack's mane which smelled like apples, and she said "What are ya'll doing?"

"I was just imagining a rope around that beautiful neck of yours." Discord said as he gently caressed Applejack's neck. She pulled away from Discord, and glared at him as she said "Ah know what were ya'll imagining!" "Such a clever earth pony." Discord said. "So typical of your kind to twist the truth to cloud the mind with unholy thoughts. Well, no matter." As he started to leave, he said "You've chosen a magnificent prison, but it is a prison, nonetheless. Set one hoof outside, and you're mine!" He walked out the door, and closed it.
