Chapter 5

The crowd continued to cheer and celebrate as they chanted Spike's name. Scootaloo smirked as she held up a tomato, and said "You think he's ugly now? Watch this!" She threw the tomato at Spike, and it smacked him right in the face. The crowd suddenly went quiet as Spike wiped his face, and they gasped in shock. Scootaloo chuckled, and said "Now that's ugly!" "Hail to the king!" A pegasai pony guard named Soarin said mockingly as he threw an apple at him. Soon, more food were pelted at Spike as Thunderhooves said "Bon appetit!" Spike tried to get away, but he slipped on a piece of tomato, and fell as the crowd began to laugh at him, and throw more food at him. He tried to get off the platform, but a unicorn named Moon Dancer picked up a rope, and lassoed the poor dragon as he said "Where are you going, ugly dragon? The fun's just beginning!" Spike began to struggle as another rope lassoed him, making him drop his scepter. As the crowd continued to laugh at him, Spike began to stuggle against the ropes, but it was no use as more ropes lassoed him until he was finally tied to the rotating platform. They spun him around very hard and fast like a merry-go-round as the crowd laughed at him, and threw more food at him. Applejack who put her regular brown hat on, stepped out of her hat, and looked at the scene in shock.

Spike looked up at Discord, and said "Master Discord! Master Discord, please! Help me!" But Discord just simply turned away from him, and ignored his pleas for help. As the crowd continued to throw food, and laugh at him, AJ turned to Discord, and said "Sir, request permisson to stop this cruelty!" "In a moment, Captain AJ." Discord said smirking. "A lesson needs to be learned here." The crowd suddenly went silent, and Discord and AJ looked to see what made the crowd go silent. Applejack went up the stairs to the platform, and knelt down to the trembling Spike. Applejack took a red cloth she was holding, and Spike trembled even more in fear. "Don't be afraid." Applejack said as she rubbed Spike's cheek with the cloth. "Ah'm sorry. This wasn't supposed to happen." "You! Earth pony! Get down at once!" Discord said as he stood up from his chair. Applejack looked at him, and said "Yes, your honor! Just as soon as Ah free this poor creature!" "I forbid it!" Discord said. Feeling angry, Applejack took out a knife, and sliced the ropes off of Spike. "How dare you defy me!" Discord said in rage. "Ya'll mistreat this poor dragon the same way you mistreat my fellow earth ponies!" Applejack said. "Ya'll speak of justice, yet you are cruel to those most in need of your help!" "SILENCE!" Discord shouted. "JUSTICE!" Applejack snapped back. She then helped Spike up, and he hugged her legs. "Mark my words, earth pony." Discord said. "You will pay for this insolence!"

Applejack picked up Spike's crown, and said "Then it appears we've crowned the wrong fool. For the only fool Ah see is you!" She tossed the crown to Discord, and Apple Bloom said "Yeah!" She stuck out her tounge while making a raspberry noise as the crown landed near Discord's booth. The spirit of chaos turned to AJ, and said "Captain AJ! Arrest her!" AJ motions for the pony guards to move in and arrest Applejack. As they surround the stage, Applejack counted the pony guards as she said "Now, let's see. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. So there's ten of you, and one of me." She took the red cloth, and said "What's a poor mare to do?" She sobbed into it, and blew on it, disappearing in a puff of smoke. "Dark magic!" Discord said in shock. From another location where the masks are, Applejack said "Oh, stallions! Over here!" "There she is!" Thunderhooves said. "Get her!" Applejack and Apple Bloom jumped into the crowd, and they help them float. Thunderhooves and Scootaloo jumped off the platform, but they crashed onto the floor. Three pony guards charged at the earth ponies, but they jumped on a cage with a unicorn named King Sombra in it, and swng at the pony guards, knocking them out.

The cage came off the hook, and Applejack and Apple Bloom rolled on it until they jumped onto a wagon with a crippled earth pony in it, and the cage continued to roll. Some of the pony guards tried to chase them, but a pony on stilts kicked them. The wagon then flew in the air after it jumped off a ramp, and the cage knocked some pony guards out, and the door was open. "I'm free! I'm free!" King Sombra said as he got out of the cage, but he tripped, and landed in the stockade which closed, and locked. "Dang it!" He muttered. Then Applejack and Apple Bloom then used a blue cloth to tie the stilts on a pony, and two pony guards were sent flying as Spike looked on. A helmet landed on Applejack's head, and she bowed. She saw three pony guards coming her way, and she threw the helmet at them like a frisbee, and it knocked them out, and almost hit AJ who ducked just in time. "What a mare!" He said smiling. Suddenly, two pony guards chased Applejack and Apple Bloom, and one of the ponies on stilts gave them a long stick, and they held both ends. Applejack and Apple Bloom jumped over Discord's booth, and the spirit of chaos dove for cover as the pony guards plowed into the booth. Discord recovered, and glared at the earth ponies. Applejack and Apple Bloom jumped up above the stage, and disappeared from the large red blanket.

As the sky grew darker, Discord recovered, and glared at Spike who just looked on in shame and disgrace. Discord looked at AJ, and said "Find her, Captain AJ! I want her alive!" AJ nodded, and said "Yes, sir." He turned to the pony guards who quickly recovered, and said "Seal off the area, stallions. Find the earth pony, and do not harm her!" The pony guards began to seal off the area as they began to shove other ponies around them. Discord went up to Spike, and glared down at him very coldly as the rain began to pour down from the clouds. With tears in his eyes, Spike said "I'm sorry, Master Discord. I will never disobey you again." He jumped down from the platform as the crowd backed away from him while spating insults at him. As he walked to the small stairs, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Twilight Sparkle looked down on him while feeling very sorry for him. With tears running down his face, Spike went up to the stairs, went inside the Canterlot Church, and closed the door, never wanting to go outside ever again.
