You want to know the worst part about being part cat? Basically everything. Want to know why? Our owners don't give a damn about us, and only use us for their pleasure if they get bored, unless they decide to beat us instead- which, sadly, is what they decide to do most of the time.

Let me rephrase that. Not all owners are bad. Some are actually caring and take good care of their Neko. But then there are the bad ones, like I've stated before.

I have probably one of the worst owners ever. He doesn't let me go outside for anything, even if I wasn't going to attempt to escape (which, to tell the truth, I probably would). He just keeps me locked in his basement all day until he needs me. I hardly get fed, if at all, so I'm basically just 'skin and bones' as you'd like to call it. He just feeds me whenever he feels like he needs to, or when he remembers, which isn't very often, and as a result of that, I don't have much strength to do much of anything but walk around all day.

I also, as he put it when he got me, didn't deserve to be comfortable in any way, so I don't have a bed to sleep on. Unless you count a cold cement floor as a bed, then yeah, I guess I do.

It's honestly sad to think that this is my only purpose in life, as I would like to think that it should be something more. Sadly, we're all born into this whether we want it or not. We're taken away from our parents when we're ten, which is normal you could say. Right now I'm 17, so I've basically gone through hell for 7 whole years. Fun right?

I would hope every day that I get even a sliver of a chance to escape, but I've never got it. He likes to keep a close eye on me just so I don't. Now I'm not as hopeful as I was anymore.

I've tried to escape before, once, when I had the chance. It didn't work out as well as I thought it would. As I got out of the basement and close to the front door, I got yanked back by the collar (Yes, literal collar), and I got beaten almost to death. Afterwards, he just threw me back in the basement and didn't feed me for days, which didn't help my state. For them days I laid on the floor, unmoving and not wanting to get up as it would hurt too much if I tried. That was when I was 13. I haven't tried to escape since then, as I didn't want to get beaten again.

When I was younger, before I got taken away from my parents, I lived in Tucson, Arizona. Now I live in Seattle, Washington. I know how to read and write, if you were wondering. We're not the stereotypical Nekos in stories that have no clue how to write or read. We learn how to do both of these before we leave our family.

My name is Tyler by the way, and this is my life as a Neko.
